We want to believe! We want to believe!
But the last time you said that we went 0-11.
We are St, John's! :p
Class 72 you must have me confused with another Eric. After Lovett got up and left so too went my aspirations for the tourney last year. I choose to enjoy this before and while it’s happening as opposed to after it happens.
Was using poetic license with you Eric. Please note the smiley.
Is your last line in any way related to sex?
Ah the Marcus LoVett factor last year!
Should the loss of a 5'11 guard have caused such a meltdown?
We still had Marvin Clark, Shamorie Ponds, Simon, Tariq Owens, Bashir Ahmed and a bench including Trimble, Yakwe and Alibegovic.
No one really thinks the 0-11 disaster was all on Marcus.
Let's hope Sedee Keita returns healthy because our lack of size will be the LoVett factor this year.

Haha. Funny on the sex comment.

Now to the Lovett factor. Yes it should based on the make up of that team. Going into the season it was ponds Lovett and a whole bunch of question marks. We had no idea what Clark and Simon were gonna bring to the table and they blossomed as the year went on. The bench you refer to last year makes me laugh. Bad comparison to this years team. We have capable guys beyond ponds this year from the start and yes they are still trying to figure out things to run smoothly but in time ( sooner rather than later) it will be running well. Keita vs Lovett in terms of necessity to the team is not even close even though I’m looking forward to him being part of the team soon. So it does not equate to the Lovett factor as you possibly suggest. Or was that said in jest too? Don’t see the smiley :)

Now to keep this topic related. My take on the game. Sure I was frustrated somewhat in the first half. I thought they played better defense than previous games. Some of the 3’s Wagner were taking were beyond nba range so what can you do? Second half obviously they came out more determined. Continued playing good defense and wagners shots weren’t falling. Was that due to better defense or the law of averages? Probably both. But this team is a fun team and I enjoy them for what they are. I won’t harp on the fact we don’t have a guy 6 ft 10 or bigger. I’ll enjoy what our guards bring to the table to exploit others.

We shall see what we shall see.;)
As for the bench this year.......you mean Trimble? THAT doesn't make you laugh? He was our bench last year!
Now call me reminiscent but I will take a Tariq Owens, Amar Alibegovic and Kassoum Yakwe to the fabulous freshmen on this team.

I'll just fully appreciate the Ws as we get them, no reason to worry about something that might not happen (poor Big East play). 85% of what we worry about doesn't come true. I expect the team to concentrate a lot harder come Big East play.

Perfect start to the season, couldn't ask for anything more.

Trimble is totally a one dimensional player!!!!!!! Will he ever driven the basket???? Will he ever get to the foul line on a 2 or 3 shot foul. The amount of minutes played without him even drawing a foul is mind boggling.

I believe if I can recall Owens started last year once Lovett went down. So he was not our bench you refer too. We really didn’t have a bench last year. At least this year we have more capable starters (all of them) this year and Dixon and Trimble and Keita when he returns all provide quite a bit more than last years bench. So again. Very bad comparison.

And yes I’ll take a Trimble with experience over himself last year. Give Williams some more time and he will help out this year.
I don’t get why fans don’t look at the good on their team and focus on the bad. I get we have deficiencies. But I know we have more positives and again I’ll choose to enjoy us for what we are. Me complaining doesnt do an ounce of good. Mullin not going to get a 7 footer because I said how dare him not have one. :)

Sorry to derail the thread. Hate when others do. So I won’t respond about this here again.

You do know LJ Figueroa counts as the bench right? I doubt you’ll take kassoum, Tariq or Amar over LJ.

lol good lucj with that one.
We're #32, and we aren't moving 7 spots for beating Wagner.

I doubt we will be ranked because frankly we haven’t beat any team that warrants a top 25 ranking !
I don’t agree at all with scheduling a bunch of cupcakes as we have done! I am afraid that it will hurt us come time for conference play!
Hopefully I will be proven wrong!

Not sure about being ranked. My gut tells me we wont see it till we beat Seton Hall but that will be a nice post Xmas present

Because he doesn't dribble the ball, literally ever. It's one of the weirdest things I've seen in college ball. As soon as he gets the ball he immediately passes it off.

At this point it really depends on if anyone ahead of us in the rankings lost. That's the only way we bypass them.
Simon has a weird free throw stroke. It looks like he is trying to shot put the ball!
Should not be in at the end of a close game, certainly don't want him on the foul line.

Yeah we will not be ranked tomorrow. We're something like 50-60 votes away from 25th place. We'll probably pick up a dozen or two votes just due to more voters noticing we are still undefeated, but definitely won't get ranked.

Will certainly be ranked if we beat Hall.

Yeah we might move up 2 or 3 spots, not 7 to get in the top 25

Have really enjoyed the Nova - Michigan, Gonzaga - Tennessee, Seton Hall - Kentucky, Carolina - Gonzaga games. Unfortunately we have avoided competition.

No confidence, scared of turning it over.
Best thing for him is to transfer to a mid major school in the off season.
