I'm sad, but:
Four Big East games in a row I haven't watched the game live... four Big East games in a row with a win.

I'm so superstitious I'd thought I jinx it, so I wouldn't allow myself to turn on the TV.  I only allowed myself to check the box score every fifteen minutes or so.

Great win!
I watched the game as soon it was over last night.  You all have covered all the superlatives, so I won't add any.

My system is working, I might just have to throw my TV out the window.
If your system works for the rest of the year, we will chip in and buy you a new TV.

1) Can someone please post the highlight of the Wusu block in the secondhalf. That was an outstanding defensive play from a gurad. Greatly appreciated.

2) Cole is in better shape from a conditioning standpoint and is now able to play defense at a higher level ( still needs a little more lateral quickness) and contribute on offense. This is the difference sometime between JUCO and big time D1.

There is nothng I can say that hasn't already been said. Wow! Wow! Wow!  But I'll repeat one thing. Posh is unlike any player I've ever seen! His energy, persistence and just plain non-stop hustle is a joy to behold. I'll be honest, I was not confident that we could win this game. I just thought Nova was too good. But I am thrilled to have been so wrong! Can't wait for the next game!

By the way, does anyone know if Father Shanley was at the game?

This is pure and simple Redmen nirvana, heaven on earth! Enjoy it after all the years of frustration and just realize , this is what Mike Anderson does for a program. He elevates everybody!Of course credit to our great players who are rising to the occasion now every game and believe in the system!

Remember one particular poster reminding us over and over again that we in fact were not a deep team and that our "depth" was just hollow pieces and that no one outside of Champ would be able to make an impact on a roster such as novas. Would love to ask coach Wright about the depth factor in this game. Maybe "Goodie" could ask him and get back to that certain poster who has never been wrong before. . Ever.
I would love for Fordham96 to come on the board and celebrate this or any of our recent victories with us.

Won't repeat too much already said but do feel compelled to add to the point made that for one night at least SJU imposed their will on Villanova. Although Villanova shot badly this was not just a bad shooting night, it was a case of a team that was relentlessly hounded. Defense first as a culture can take you places, especially while a program is building up talent.

Very fun game to watch, on a lot of levels.  And one childish aspect that I enjoyed is in the last two minutes when Villanova couldn't get us to the line to extend the game and give them more possessions because they only had three team fouls. After all these years of them getting every whistle (and if you watch other BE games it's every freaking game) it was sweet to see that actually be slightly damaging.

In lavins first year we had all those big wins and momentum seemingly on our side for close to 2 months. Towards the end of that stretch we beat Nova on the road in what was perhaps overlooked due to the previous big wins the team captured. However, that game showed just how much we had actually improved as a team. We weren't surprising a good nova team out of no where. We played our game and controlled it from start to finish.

The game last night reminded me of that. We didn't sneak up on nova, we simply played our game and they couldn't handle it.

When GW dunked the ball, I did not even realize he was in the game. I don't believe he reentered after he was taken out.

Did GW get re-injured? Or did CMA just want to give him spot minutes in his return?

It's amazing how we are seeing Posh and Wusu develop so quickly before our eyes.  They should be the most formidable backcourt the team has seen in decades, and should easily surpass the expectations of Ponds and Lovett.

Nice to see Cole and Moore contributing in their more expected roles.

CMA's calm and educational demeanor is really serving this young team well.

We looked like a very well coached team out there last night. I was born with more than enough fingers to count the times I’ve said that in this century.

Maybe zero.

How about you?

Coach said he thinks Gwill tweaked his back again.  But if you watch the post game locker room celebration, Greg is jumping around with a huge smile on his face.  Does not look like a kid who is in pain at all.

Based on that, it looks like a minor setback if anything.

It was an impressive slam especially because he was guarded and just kept going.  Not quite Starks vs the Bulls but it was a statement

Speaking of slams, who thought posh was windmilling that towards the end of the game?  It looked like at the last second he recalled blowing the windmill earlier in the season and backed off.

Well I was dead wrong about this game. Here I was thinking to not even bother to press. Anderson was having none of it. Our pressure bothered the hell out Nova. Great win!

If you cut off the head of a snake it can no longer attack you ... and it's body flails around helplessly until it's dead.  Last night Posh cut off Villanova's head, dominating Colin Gillespie as if he was the veteran schooling the rookie.  He totally dominated Gillespie, completely disrupting the engine that steers their offense.  Game Over.  Thank you Posh.  Never enjoyed watching a headless snake flail as I did last night!

Thanks for reminding me of  the quote made by Anderson's mentor, Norlan Richardson made after beating the David Cain led St. John's team in the second round of the NCAA tournament in 93, "Cut off the head of the snake, and the body dies" .  He was refering to the 40 minutes of hell Cain endured which at the end wore him out in a six point loss.

I forgot about that but thanks for mentioning it.  The worm has turned, so to speak.

One of my favorite parts of the game was when Gillespie pulled that Duke-like petty nonsense, aggressively fouling Dunn, then flopping.  It incensed me that they called Dunn for the foul, but the sheer frustration on Gillespie's face all game was pure joy. We hung on and shoved it down his throat.
