(POST-GAME) Villanova (MSG), Sun., Feb. 17, 5p, FS-1 / 570 AM

I don’t know if what I posted would be considered a shot, but when you have a guy as hot as Figueroa, he HAS to get the ball every possession. Whoever else is taking a shot, especially a bad one, needs to hear so.
Whenever we do bad, it’s the staff. Whenever we do well, it’s the players. That’s just childish.

Wright failed to make any adjustments in the second half.
Are you calling moi childish?
Because if me pointing out the hot hand needs the ball every possession and the coaches not recognizing that isn’t a problem then that’s an awfully big brush you paint with.
Not you specifically. I was replying generally. Everything good from Nova is Wright...all the bad is his players (half his roster is top 75 talent).

With Mullin, it’s the opposite. Very unfair.

Wow what a great win. Anyone who thought they were going to win this game after being down 29-10 is a liar (self included) especially after the Providence debacle. I have no explanation as to why this team is so damn inconsistent not only from game to game but from half to half. It is as frustrating as it can be stunning.
Watching the post-game Howie Schwab said we could be a 10 seed. Imagine some team getting a 7 seed and seeing this SJU team waiting for them? Who knows which team would show up? They have enough talent to beat almost anyone. Then again they could also not show up and get beat in game 1. Who knows with this team?

The same coach you said this about tonight while we trailed:

“Structured, well prepared, sharing ball team v polar opposite am sorry to say.”

Care to walk that back?
At the time I believed that, especially sharing ball comment. I did not think SJ could come back and was wrong. I am capable of owning what I say, unlike a certain hyperbolic, over the top, needy little man. Looking forward to your self imposed sabbatical post season “Coach”

The biggest part of the come back tonight was when Simon was on the bench.....please leave him there, he kills us when he plays, no defense cant shoot fouls, cant shoot anything except heaves at the end of the half. PLEASE LEAVE HIM ON THE BENCH !!!!!!

Interesting point:

St. John's has faced Markus Howard and Phil Booth a combined four times this season -- in those four games, Howard and Booth shot 28.8 percent from the field.
Jeff Borzello

Simon might’ve turned the game around for us. Also, he simply HAS to play.

This team just won an amazing game, and took a big step toward the NCAA tournament, and we are arguing with one another?

Just f*cking stop!

Enjoy this win.

You do realize Simon is probably the front runner for BE DPOY right?

He does things that don’t show up in the box score

Now we just need to get Ponds to bring back that one foot that he already has out the door and get him to mentally check back into the college game 100 percent. If that happens I can easily see a mini-tear and ruining the season of a few top-name teams in March.

Agreed. I think this might’ve done it. I’m so happy for LJ. I noticed when Simon hit the fullcourt shot, he was the only one genuinely pumped and trying to get everyone else into it. His passion is exactly what we needed. It rubbed off on everyone else and I hope it rubs off on ponds for the rest of the season

Runaway winner for worst post of the year...

Personal insults over a basketball game to someone several decades younger than you...really? And it wont be a sabbatical it’s permanent because I don’t want to be some pathetic old man who stalks boys and argues with guys in their 20s and 30s. Thanks for showing me what I don’t want to become.

Chris Mullin from Brooklyn - and for those old enough to know, superstar and a fellow Brooklynite Jackie Gleason had the right tag line for tonight’s drama at the Garden:
“How Sweet it is!”
