Play the following games at CA
Creighton
DePaul
Buter
Xavier
Agreed. C7 schools at MSG and expansion teams at CA. Add DePaul to MSG games if they ever really get it together and become a better draw

I could be wrong, but I don’t believe that Trimble has made (or even attempted) a basket since returning from his hand injury at the end of the Duke game. Any word on whether it’s aggravating him — or anyone see anything that might shed light on my question? He’s been very strong on the defensive end, but a little weird not seeing him bomb-away from long distance. Even just landing one of those shots can really open things-up for others in going to the basket.

I was going to create a stand-alone topic, but was concerned that it would break into a 5 - page thread general discussion.

Good Point.

Spanarkel made a good point during the run that got us the lead. He said sometimes guys have to be complimentary players, referring to Keita and Trimble. Which is exactly what they did. There was a point Trimble did an excellent job battling Paschal for position, which made Daniel just give up and head behind the three point line.

I've also been impressed with Keita's defense on guards all season. He did a good job on Booth when he switched on him a couple times.
Not gonna quote that post just cause it’s long Adam but the difference between our performances at CA and MSG this year was a completely valid point that was made. until we finally won against nova

Even without analyzing how we have played this year at MSG, there was warranted pushback on the idea that all of our conference games would be played at MSG. I don’t care what side of the spectrum you land on in this issue, but there is concrete data that backs up the idea that playing at CA is a great advantage for us that shouldn’t be ignored.

No one here suggested we stop playing at MSG. But we shouldn’t stop playing games at CA either, conference games included.

So no, I don’t think the debate should be ended just because we had a comeback win this weekend. I don’t want Cragg to do what he’s planning on doing and I’m not gonna change my mind even if we win our remaining games at MSG and run the table in the BET.
I don't think a few games worth of data this year is really relevant since we have decades worth of CA vs MSG performance and this year is a bit abnormal. To be honest I'm not sure how much of an advantage CA is. It's really tough to evaluate since we generally play the better teams (lower odds of winning) at MSG anyways. I think we were favored to win every game at CA this season, yet we still lost to DePaul. So going 2-2 at MSG isn't really that much worse when you consider we were underdogs in one game (vs zero underdog games at CA).

In terms of OOC, teams like Duke won't play us at CA. In fact, I doubt we could get anybody but A10 or lower level P5 teams to play us at CA. Mullin's best win year 1 was vs Syracuse. His best win year 2 was @ Syracuse. His best win year 3 was vs Duke/Nova (I'd say Duke since it ended our 0-11 drought). We were underdogs in every game, and none of those games would've happened had we not agreed to H&Hs at MSG. Had we not scheduled them and won, Mullin's seat would be super hot to say the least, and players like Heron and LJ may not have come. Ponds may have left early. I think it's pretty certain that had we not played those big games at MSG the previous 3 years, the atmosphere surrounding the program would've been horrible coming into this year.

As I said, if people don't want to play all 9 BE games at MSG I can understand that. But we absolutely need to increase our number of MSG games each year. Playing only 5 games at MSG is a joke, especially when teams like Seton Hall and UConn are playing there multiple times OOC. We need to make it our home court. If another team plays there 3 times and we play there 5 times, can we really claim it as an advantage? Oh, and that's not even factoring in the BE/B1G conference tournaments. Nova is actually playing at MSG as often as we are.

Anyways, my post doesn't even touch on all the additional benefits of playing at MSG, such as higher attendance/better fan engagement, better recruits, better media coverage, etc. CA has no advantages outside of Vegas possibly giving us an extra point or whatever... but that's so minor in comparison to all the advantages of solidifying MSG as our own.
