Very telling
Sears didn’t play a ton either. With Dunn and Williams getting so many minutes, and with the uptempo pace of the game, seemed like CMA wanted to stick with a smaller/faster lineup. Don’t expect Steere to see much PT the rest of the way. Not sure he’s a match with CMA’s style of play.
None of our Bigs were impressive today. Sears misses lay ups, Robert's can't shoot and Steere is the most gifted of them but has had a tough time grasping the plays CMA wants to run. Steere needs to become a team member rather than an outcast. I hope he gets it sooner rather than "see ya later".
Does anyone know what's going on with Steere? Always leery of transfers. Dude should have no problem getting some minutes.
All I hear is that he plays soft as Carvel and uninspired when given a chance. That won't fly with this staff. Hate to see wasted talent but you can drag a horse to water but...........
You don’t have to hear it, you can see it when he steps on the court. Part of it may be effort, part of it may just be that he can’t keep up on either end, especially when we press. Or maybe both.

Still early, but Ian may be a lesson learned like Keita. It is risky to project how transfers will fare with limited playing time history & no track record. We hang our hats too often on ratings and are disappointed many times. Eli Wright is another example imo.

Paultz obviously we would all prefer that we get higher ranked kids, whether it be right out of high school for via transfer, but I like to say that rankings mean very little once a kid has played college ball and shown what he’s capable of. Of course some kids take longer to develop(Sir Dom come to mind) but others never become productive college players in spite of their lofty ranking coming out of high school. Not passing judgement on Steere, but haven’t been impressed so far with his mobility and energy level. Both of which are key elements of CMA teams. Also keeping in mind that Steere was not a CMA recruit.

I paid really close attention to Steere, each time he's received playing time and he looks absolutely lost on both offense and defense. It was always telling to me that anytime CMA was asked about him in the media he really made sure to temper expectations.

Also, another thing about Steere I believe he played for a different high school each one of his high school years, and he originally committed to Creighton, then flipped to NC State, then transferred from there after his first game. He doesn't seem to be big on keeping a commitment to a team. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he decides to transfer again, unless his minutes and role changes drastically, which I don't see happening.

Watching replay that happened to be on.

Steere's head was buried in towel around his neck most of game. Barely showed any emotion and rarely clapped when everyone else was. Looked miserable.

Having seen Steere at the open practice, he struck me as someone who preferred to shoot from 10 feet out rather than bang the boards; yes he jams in the lay up line--but that is not in a game. He was not a CMA recruit and there is definitely a difference of opinion right now and CMA is the boss.

As to today it was a TEAM victory but I am proud to say Brooklyn In The House, thanks to Dunn and Champ.

Someone mentioned how many assists Dunn could have if our bigs could make a gimme. How so? He'd have to pass the ball first, no? Two times on the same possession he has Earlington standing 5 feet from him, with only one defender back, and he insists on taking in himself! Why? Hate to rip on him after the game he had, but he's a selfish player. One time he got in the air under the basket with nowhere to go and decided to just fall out of bounds rather than trying to pass it toward a teammate.
27 fouls called in the second half. 27
Watching the game today made me realize how much Williams would have helped guarding McClung the other night.
Glad to see Champagnie producing again.

I legitimately thought Steere could be a starter and give us 8 and 6, and become a 14 and 9-10 guy as a senior. Now it looks like he'll have to transfer to somewhere like High Point or Elon to get minutes and stuff stat sheets. Damn shame.

Dunn is a scorer. As such he has a scorers mentality. You’re expecting him to behave like a PG. Maybe in time, but he’s still feeling his way out there. I for one am thrilled to have him and am willing to take the cons that come with his many pros. He’s our best player right now.

And frankly, we need him to be a scorer. Other then LJ and Heron, who else on this team can put up the points on a consistent basis?

He has a lot of Marcus Hatten in his game, though not quite as dominant, obviously.

Nice to connect with MJM, Weatherman and 114 crew. Mike even supplied beer, demonstrating he knows the way to a Canuck’s heart. Big win and great day in NYC.

Who is the guy behind Rutledge and to Moses’s left. Thanks in advance

Regarding Dunn; there's a fine line between being selfish and being self confident. We'll see how that plays out as the season progresses.

For those of you who know the technical aspects of the game better than me, why is Dunn such a poor shooter? His mechanics look pretty good to me. He shoots free throws well. If he could even shoot it as well as Ponds did last year, he would likely be all league.

Dunn is not selfish at all, he's averaging a team high 3.3 APG. As another poster mentioned he's a SG learning how to play PG, and so far I think he's done a great job at adjusting. He's not always going to see everything we see watching in the living room. Also he has said in post game press conferences CMA has asked him to be aggressive and attack the rim, so he's just doing what the coach tells him, that's his game, CMA wants him attacking that rim and drawing fouls he's really good at it. IMO, Dunn is the MVP right now, playing great basketball and been the most consistent player on both the offensive and defensive end.

From left to right, Ron Rutledge, Lamont Middleton, Coach Carnesecca, Brian, Mahoney, Shawnelle Scott, Amir Sealey (Malik's Brother), and Edwin Searcy. The highlight of the afternoon was Ed Searcy showing off the NBA Championship ring he received as a member of the Boston Celtics.

Heron is a consistent scorer? Not to me.
Yesterday he had a good game, but that's only one game. Let him do it on a regular basis before calling him a consistent scorer. Hopefully yesterday was the start.

Thinking Tux was asking about the guy between (behind) Mahoney and Hamilton.
Probably got in the pic by accident.

side note the long island railroad sucks. Pretty much trains weren't running on the huntington line because of track work somewhere west of mineola. Without some pain in the ass rerouting making the train ride longer than the orient express so I had to drive in.

I think it's going on next saturday too so going to have to dive to port washington or something and take different train
