(POST GAME) (MSG) Connecticut, Sun., Feb. 13, 12 Noon, FOX

We have no depth. We need to have more players who can come off the bench and create.

…Kara mar
coach and staff put this team together, taught them I guess
they deserve the negativity and the blame
Mo we could have waited before we put out an ext at least till the yr was up

They defended Wheeler well, his 5/18 shooting was for most part out of sync with only few good looks

I agree but thought he missed a few good looks.  Would have been nice to get something out of Coburn.  Winnable game and tough loss
your point, but they did good job of making Wheeler drive and did not let him

I get your point, but thought UConn made Wheeler drive more and did not allow him to square up much outside. Re Coburn in last few games he has had good looks and not come through. He doesn’t offer much else if off & that he has been. All in all our half court offense is abysmal

They're called FREE THROWS for a reason
I'm sick and tired of not being able to make more than 50% of them in a game

Now how points did we score after going up 6 or 7 ? I don’t know the answer I’m just curious

Believe it was 55-48 us.

I thought it was a pretty enjoyable/hard fought game to watch and there were runs by both teams. I don't think this had anything to do with coaching but a slightly better UCONN team and a team in St. John's that can't win a close one because they don't have a go to player when you need one. After watching the game I agree we probably would have lost with Posh just as we probably would have lost to Pitt with Champ. It has just been that kind of season. We have six more games before the Big East Tournament. Hopefully we can win a few games. Hopefully Posh will get healthy soon. This team isn't very good but I think its a little better then its record. Lets finish strong.

To not get the Ball in Mathis hands down the stretch of this game is puzzling . CMA gave  the ball to Wusu for the inevitable block .  Mathis was on fire . We needed a hoop badly .   Case closed .
Anderson is a mediocre in game coach on a good day. There were so many missed time outs that should have been taken and players who should have been out.

scored five points in last eight minutes.  Classic choke job.  Not exactly a formula for winning.

I saw the opposite of whatever you saw. Bad game bad basketball, tired of it.
I can tolerate losing but I am sick of watching terrible basketball!
1. this team can’t shoot
2. this team runs no offensive patterns at all
3. we don’t defend the 3
4. We can’t hit free throws
5. we don’t rebound
6. we can’t make layips
7. we cannot close out a game!
Is there anything these kids do well????????

Where is that pharma2011 poster ( I might have gotten the year wrong ) I need a rite aid phone in prescription now ! :)

Have great respect for Coach...staff and the whole st john's organization...watch Lavin and see his love of St Johns and cant help thinking he would be a great recruiter....no disrespect to anyone or anything....im just saying...

You can forgive poor shooting, some games it’s just not your day. But I’ve never seen someone pickup their dribble more than Smith.

In the face of any pressure he stops his dribble and pivots around looking for help. A byproduct of Posh’s absence for sure but  he killed whatever rhythm we had at times.

No - I just have been watching almost every game for the last twenty plus years since the Northern Arizona NCAA win. That is after having watched almost every game for 15 plus years before. There were a lot of disappointing losses during those 15 plus years but enough good times to offset them. These last twenty years have had some exciting one offs, like the big wins Lavin's first year. The Ponds games where he willed us to win and a few other fun games and players to watch. But for the most part it is the same old same old. I wasn't expecting to win this game. Of course when we went up 7, I thought there was a chance because I am a St. John's fan but I wasn't surprised by the ending. So at this point if we play a competitive game and win a few that is all I am going to expect. Unfortunately I had to give up my season tickets this year for health reasons but am hoping to be back next year because except for a bad back from CA, I think you get good entertainment for the cost. Anyway if we win the opening night of the BET, I hope to attend on Thursday.

Don't those portable seatback things help?
