Unfortunately, many are guilty of it.

My point is posters should be required to go back and read their emotionally charged game posts after a cooling off period. It may give some perspective on how you cone across to others.

I am not telling anyone to treat game threads like I do, and refrain from posting in them, because we would barely complete a one page thread. And that is boring.

But if all you are going to post is something to the effect of "(insert player's name) is worthless, and he costing us the game. This game is over. See you in the NIT," maybe you should not.

Anyway, lecture over.

We are...

Great post Kranmars. You are right many of us are guilty of negative posting during games, including yours truly. Point taken and hopefully improvement to follow.
Sharing a life boat in shark invested waters with Mean Gene & Mike Zaun not high on my wish list. :)
Last observation from me on the game...

I thought Keita played well and we needed it. If there is one thing he does as well or better than the average big man starter it’s defendig guards on the switch. He gives up the low % pull-up but gets in a deep stance to challenge the drive—which he can usually defend well and get a good chance at blocking if beaten. That seems to alter the shots of the guards and make them hesitant to do it again. It’d be nice if he starred to rebound better.
Like his improvement and certainly has a role/spot on this team and the future. He needs to learn how to not use his hands when playing defense against guards. Needs to use his length and shot blocking ability. His fouls should be saved for the low post and preventing big men from scoring down low. l believe this will come with practice, game reps and experience. He has the ability.

On top of that imagine us also tripping off drinking salt water despite your best attempts to discourage it. You might just jump in the infested waters as a more preferable option

I think we came into the game with a great game plan. We were playing the third game of the toughest stretch of games in the Big East schedule, Our already thin roster played like ninjas. Clark did not have a good game offensively, but hustled through the entire game, we were in early foul trouble and we managed to come out of a very tough place to play with a W. Playing a team that had not lost all year there and the number 10 team in the country. I give a lot of credit to Mullin and the entire coaching staff for keeping them focused throughout the game. We needed this game for our resume, and even more importantly for our own confidence.

Its kinda fun to read a message board of a team we just beat. lol Sounds like our board.

Can't say enough about the job Simon did on Howard. When Simon was on him, Howard wouldn't even look for his shot. Marquette would often run high picks to get us to switch and get Simon off of Howard, but Howard still wasn't able to get easy shots off.

To me, this type of game clearly differentiates Ponds from Howard as the BE POY. Howard can barely even create his own shot. He often needs a series of picks and screens. Now he doesn't need much space to get his shot off, and is deadly when given a little space. But Ponds can totally dominate on his own.

Now I understand why there is always that one guy that makes a swim for it with no land in sight. My over under with those two would be 8 minutes.

Both teams rightfully gave the ball to their best players at the end. Our guy made the defender fall down and hit a layup. Their guy barely got off his air ball three.

Simon was fantastic on Howard all day, yet it was Heron who locked him down in the end. Funny game, basketball.

I am happy games are not 41 minutes, as SJU was running on fumes. No Trimble contributed to that, as did the endless foul trouble. I still can’t believe no one fouled out.

This was a great game, a game where it is a shame anyone had to lose, but since someone has to I am happy it was MU.

Loved the way coach and players talked about defense in post game comments. They expended tremendous energy on defense last night and were smart enough to rest a bit on offense by having a guy (usually Ponds) dribble for a while near half court. They were playing shorthanded and had just enough energy left at the end to stave off the Marquette comeback and hold on for the one point win. Held high scoring Marq to 69 points in both games coincidentally. Also on the near end game play where Howard missed the shot defended by Heron I don't know how Heron was able to avoid a foul. Great job as Howard faked him into the air and Heron contorted his body to avoid the foul and still got back up to jump a second time to affect the shot attempt. Thankfully Howard didn't jump into Heron while he was airborne and maybe get a home town foul call.

During the heat of the game many of us make negative comments, think I can speak for all thank the team and staff for their efforts Eating crow takes good after a win

...how many people thought Hauser's 3/4 court heave (felt like a full minute in the air) was going in?....

Mid-flight... being a battered SJU fan... i would have bet it was in lol

Or that Simon was going to foul him as he hoisted it up?
