(POST-GAME) Marquette, Sat., Jan. 16, 12 NOON, FS1 / 570 AM WMCA

That one hurts more than any other. Felt like one we should steal. I can't tell you how much I disagree with our decision to hold the ball for the last shot when we were down 2. 25 second is an eternity. Get a good  look quick and then stretch the game out if need be.

Posh has to have the ball in that situtation ---He looks for openings Dunn looks for his shot --That is on the coach  especially after a timeout

Put your podcast up !! I wanna see anger !!

After 1 1/2 seasons, I feel confident we don't want Dunn with the ball at the end of one possession games.  I think we have seen enough of that.

This was a game we lost for so many reasons, But saying Dunn waiting too long is on Coach is ridiculous. CMA was screaming for Dunn to move and he didn't. Plus, this isn't the first time Dunn has done this. Now, I just hope CMA has a long sit down with him.

All in all the team is improving. It was around the same time last season that things seemed to kick in. It appears the same thing is happening this season. As good as Roberts played, him getting two fouls early in the first half really hurt. Could have been the difference in the game if he was able to play the entire first half. Doubt we're down 11 at the half.

Cole plays too slow and Dunn too fast!

Disappointing loss, we played well especially Champ, Roberts, Williams and Posh. Got little from Cole and Dunn.

We getting better, this was a tough one.

Agree 100%, but I felt the poorer decision was to substitute our way into a loss of momentum early in the half when we came back to take the lead. What happened to going with the hot hand? Or in this case, the hot 5?

I don't know how many times Dunn try's to set himself up for the last shot.  Ball in Posh's hand Dunn on the bench.

Lots of questions on last possession . Why Dunn with the Ball and not Posh ? Dunn was way too nonchalant bringing the ball into the front court and still dribbles around aimlessly . 2 . Do you really want Cole going to the hoop when he hasn't made a lay up all day ? He doesn't have a lot of hop to begin with .  Bad loss at home . Disappointing . Head Scratcher all the way .

If you are going to overdribble that much that far from the basket with that little time remaining, I think pulling up for the three would have been 1,000x better that the crap that happened. Even a way-off-target three would have been better.

Yea but it was right out of the timeout. How does Dunn not know we’re looking for something else if we literally just broke the huddle. It’s bad regardless.

On the one hand, I can't ask for any more effort then what the guys gave us today.  Even in the first half, I thought we were playing hard.  A lot of shots just spun out.

On the other hand, I'm saying this after a loss at home to a team that's decent, but far from great, which means, we should have won.

Late game offense appears to be Anderson's biggest weakness as a coach.  I would hope somebody gets in his ear about bringing in an assistant for that, or at least a special consultant or one of those fancy titles, but he strikes me as the type who is loyal to the guys he has (the "anti-Willard" if you will).  That's great in the real world, but in the college hoops world, it could kill you.

Defense was good again, especially in the second half.  It seems like the guys are understanding it more, and I think the staff has made a few tweaks to improve it, as well.

Turning point was Wusu's fouling out.  To me, the defensive intensity was never really the same following that.

Change for the sake of change is Norm-esque.

Sure out muscled but a game for the  taking

hit a couple more free throws    N just poor end of game

Idea going forward, big possession let's have our two best players, Champ and Williams,  touch the ball. Maybe a pick and roll between those two.

Some positives.  Champagnie is a real star.  The kind of player who turns an off day into a solid game.  Posh is pure hussle.  If he can refine a few things, he will he very good in years to come.  It's a different team with Roberts in the floor.

The muscle he added is paying dividends.  In addition to his blocks, he is much stronger in the paint.  I think our defense will be better the rest of the way with him getting big minutes.

Next year, we desperately need to pick up a transfer who can create his own shot and be a consistent scorer.  Keep Champagnie, Posh, Roberts, Wusu and Williams.  Hopefully the new big guys can rebound and bang a bit, Pinzon contributes and perhaps we can compete for the middle of the pack.
