I'll take any win when LJ scores 7 and Heron scores 6. I don't care if we're playing an 8th grade CYO team. Have to get Heron right somehow or we have a pretty low ceiling (which may be the case anyway)

Great games for Caraher, Roberts and the consistency we've come to expect from Champagnie (our freshman was the only guy to knock down all of his ft's today) I also thought Rutherford was able to affect the game positively even though he wasn't scoring. Scrappy D, took care of the ball much better than yesterday and even hit the boards hard a few times. He'd been trending down for me so nice to see him be a positive contributor out there.

I asked this in the game thread right before it was locked but can anyone remember the last big we had who made a jump from the previous season the way Roberts seems to have made? I'm having a hard time thinking of it. Feel like our bigs have mostly regressed for the last handful of years.
George Johnson. He went from good to great.

True. The one that Rutherford missed was brutal.

Also cant discount Earlington efforts....he plays hard and does a lot of lifting for this team....he is a team player and a winner...

16 minutes for Heron, 19 for Figg, Cham and Roberts 33 and 32, and a win. Bizarro. .

A little before my time (born in 1982) but I remember hearing George Johnson described as a double double machine. Must have been nice. Will have to do a deeper dive on google tonight and brush up on my history.

Take the W and run. Props to Roberts and Caraher.

CMA magic number down to 11.

George was a refined and highly recruited player coming out of high school. Josh was primarily a receiver playing football in high school and did not devote primary time to hoops initially. That to me means he is blossoming & has a high upside. Nice to see.

George was there when I was at SJU. I believe he played for the Pacers after college

Heron and Figgy were in foul trouble the entire second half. I view this game as positive if we can win with those two playing limited minutes. If it’s somebody else every game that’s ok as long as we’re winning. We need Steere in case Roberts gets into foul trouble and we need to get Heron right.

Our young forwards grind, and I love it. Roberts and Champagnie gonna be a great combo in coming years.

And Earlington!

A question and a comment

When is Steele playing?
Coach Mike Anderson is fine but he needs AT LEAST this year to get his playing and recruiting system in gear.

It will be amazing if he can keep his - no losing season - streak alive.

And why is that bizarro? Because they're the so called stars, and have to get 30minutes even when stinking it up?
I'm glad when someone is playing poorly that they sit, no matter the player. You want major minutes, then do good and you get those minutes.
Today Roberts & Champ deserved those minutes.

I guess I am not as smart as you but if you told me that heron and Fig would log a total of 35 minutes, I would have said no chance for a win. Champ and Roberts have been beyond a surprise.

If Heron and LJ average a combined 35 minutes in conference play, it won’t matter who gets their minutes.
