Bottom line is there is a road trip coming up where we can save this season or let it continue to spiral down the tubes.

We will see how players respond. Can’t give up yet. Everyone gave up on our last tournament team after this one horrid loss @DePaul. Hoping for the best. But can see the cracks in the foundation really starting to form

It's lazy basketball and poor coaching. We're an easy prepare.

Keep placing blame on Simon and Clark (not you in particular, Otis) and ignoring the pink elephant in the room. Neither player played well, but there's far more to it than just those two not playing well today.

You can not shot 38% and expect to win. Their shooting the past few games has been awful. How many layuos did they miss today?

Normally I would say you are right but actually we got 2-3 off rebs off Figgy's missed 3 just couldn't convert, ballgame right there as they came down and scored.[/quote]


Yes we did get 2 -3 shots and one of the the worse finishers I have ever seen in college balll "Simon." missed a put back.

Crimson Tide, good point on Figgy’s shot but, the fact we then missed 2-3 attempts to rebound that miss were crucial . We rarely get a key put back inside the paint . And , have you ever seen a worse team at getting to the Rim and missing the bunny ? That’s not on Mullin but, BE teams have us scouted well . Basically, defend Ponds , Figgy and Heron and let’s see Clark and Simon beat us . We saw that today . Plus , McClung is the next Markus Howard . We don’t have anyone like him . Pity . Announcers keep saying we have the talent but, it doesn’t win us games in the BE .

He cant shoot, he cant handle the ball, he plays no defense. Why is he playing and taking shots when it is so important for us to score ???? MIND BOGGLING

Gtwon over 40% from 3. Us? 26%. College basketball is about the 3. This team's offense is about the 3. As I have noted, our sweet spot is about 40%. Amazing that the game was this close.

Clueless team, clueless staff. Just lost to a G’Town team headed nowhere at home starting 2 freshmen. Mullin is now either 31 or 32 games below .500 in conference play.
 
Down 79 - 77 Ponds steals the ball and falls to the floor, a perfect time for a timeout. Oh I forgot Mullin used all of them.

Not to dump on Ponds but him trying a no look pass in that situation was a mistake.

That followed by the horrible decision of a 3 from LJ, then the missed putbacks leading to the slam on the other end, it may very well define this season. Hope it doesn’t

I'm not taking a position regarding your assessment of the staff. That's the A.D.'s job. My hope is that when the season is over, Cragg will review the record, analyze the progress or lack thereof, and make a decision on the staff as if the coach was named Joe Easterling or William Van Nostrand., and not Chris Mullin.

That will NEVER happen[/quote]. Rick or any Pitino is not coming to St John’s. I disagree with those who patty caked over Simon and Clark today and their just awful performance . We lost today because they played as poor a game as 2 experienced players can do . 5 -26 isn’t a acceptable result from 2 Players supposedly counted on for scoring the basket . Simon hasn’t had good offense all year and Clark is too streaky but, shoots way too much , even when he’s off . It’s bad formula for winning.

It should, but it doesn't work that way in the real world
If Mullin wants to stay, he'll get a lot more rope that Joe Easterling would
Not sure about William Van Nostrand :p
