Mullin needs to step down at year end.

I'm past my love of him as a player.
. I think a more accurate take would be , “ I am past my Love of Justin Simon and Marvin Clark as players . .. We have glossed over the fact that we really have no reliable 3 point shooters . McClung best player on Court and abused anyone guarding him . Ponds? He missed a lot of bunnies today too . Figgys shot was not the right play at that time , given that we are such a poor Offensive Rebounding team . We got fooled by the Team’s early start . As a group they aren’t that talented at Scoring the ball or stopping it . I haven’t seen the box score but , they are horrible all around . Keita a liability at foul line and not finishing .

Was a key issue, burning all TOs so early came back to bite them in ass.
had to call time outs to keep big momentum swings and lead growing to large at certain points. This loss is based on poor shooting/play from Clark and Simon, bad team defense and LJ making a bad decision in crunch time. He played a very strong game.

Tough loss. Feel like the season is done, unless we win BET.

I never before seen a college basketball team play a defense where it’s players automatically switch without even attempting to fight through a screen thereby causing the point guarding the center down under.

Why do you feel we should win this game we are in last place. Seriously though I go into every BE game thinking it is a 50-50 proposition. Today we shot the 3 horribly and GT didn't.
That loss is the type that can break you. Horrible
Have to disagree. If they pulled it out, the NCAA talk would have remained, but the way they played at home, without an excuse in the world, told the story. Ever since the last 5 minutes of the Nova game, I haven't seen any indication this is a NCAA caliber team. Jimmy Jackson said it best. It's not about the individual talent on the team, it's about that talent playing together to bring about victory. There was mediocre team defense, sub-par ball movement, and the wrong guys taking the shots. As an added burden, there is no place in college basketball for a guard that can't hit the broad side of a barn.

I’m glad that living out of the country has made me apathetic to SJu. In the past I would have been upset, but now I just don’t care all that much. I hope they turn it around, but looks like another wasted season.
Clark & Simon a combined 5-26, including 2-12 from three. Really only two starters who played well were Heron & Figgy.
I think our starting 5 is very talented. The irony is that they aren’t good ‘consistently’ together. Oh they have scintillating periods when they dominate and are unbeatable, but that passes too quickly, and they seem to wilt at critical times in the game.
I won’t blame the players or the coaches, but it is frustrating as all hell.

How do you overcome having a player like Justin Simon? 0-3 from three. 2-11 from the field. 1-2 from the FT line. 3 turnovers...refuses to acknowledge his weaknesses.

Down 3 with 3 minutes left and Simon took a three. He was already 0-2 and just 2-10 from the field at that point. How? He's the worst shooting perimeter player the Big East has seen since Dom Pointer...yet he lives on the three point stripe.
He was bad today but he essentially had to take that 3 you are talking about. Shot clock running down and Shamorie kicked it out to him.
He had plenty of time to pass or get in the lane.

Here's my issue: why is he living one the three point line?! When Ponds makes those passes to him, he doesn't know it's Simon. Why is Simon giving him that target instead of crashing glass?

It's insanity. Pointer did the same sh*t. They both DESTROY spacing when they are stagnant in the perimeter. Replace Simon with DJ Kennedy and are probably unbeaten.

That would be correct

It isn’t correct... but we are trending in the wrong direction. We need a big time performance in Omaha

Normally I would say you are right but actually we got 2-3 off rebs off Figgy's missed 3 just couldn't convert, ballgame right there as they came down and scored.

Our nickname should be changed from the Johnnies to the Bunnies
Lord knows we miss a bushel full of them almost every game

Nope, both called with TV timeouts imminent. Always keep one in hip pocket

That’s not talent Wow this is on staff they recruited every player but except for a few the rest are not top big east talent. Keita can not cut it in this league Staff has known we needed a big center with skills they have not delivered playing small ball over 4 yrs does not cut it no excuses it is what it is. Hope next yr brings different results but it will not unless we recruit some top 30- 50 players Staring with precious would be a start but why would he want to come here

Preparing myself for Mullins post game quotes about going for the jugular, one game at a time, blah blah blah.

Hope Cragg has Pitino's # in his rolodex or cell phone

Once again swallowed the bait. Big East starts and we spit the bit. Counting on the BET. But MSG is like a home game for Vill, G'town and S Hall too.
I guess pray to Saint Jude for the rest of the year
He’s suspended
I never took a side on wanting Mullin here or not wanting him here. I took a wait and see approach. But, now maybe we need to make change
I won't say that just yet, though I want to.
I'll be very patient to see if we somehow still make the tournament.
They lose 3 of these 4 then yeah, it's season over.
