The team works hard, it is really coming together, be patient as i only make $2 mill. This is what $2 mill gets you.
I believe he was making well over 2 Mil before the contract renegotiation after our stellar 2021 season. It's probably closer to 3 Mil now, but what's a Mil more or less at this point.

It's almost criminal
Totally ridiculous. Since it's public school, it was well documented that he was making 2.6+ Mil at Ark. I highly doubt that he took less to come here, and I highly doubt he didn't ask for and get a hefty raise last year. One only need look at what went on at Missou and Ark to see the pattern of his agent leveraging alleged interest from other schools, and/or a modicum of success(see our 2021 season and his COY award), in to a contract extension and a hefty raise. It's all over the internet for anyone who cares to look.

maybe his agent is leveraging another deal as we speak. I hear High Point has an opening and will pay $3 mill

Monte, think you are as much of a capitalist as I am and pretty sure you wouldn't object to anyone cutting the best deal they can, something I always tried to do. I sure as hell don't blame CMA and his agent for cutting the best deal they could, whether it's worth it to SJU is another story and only time will tell on that one.

I don't know about the extension, but remember, he was let go from Arkansas, so it's possible he was making less his first two years here.  He had no other job that he could use for leverage.

I agree completely NCJ. I have absolutely no problem with anyone making as much as they can. However, when the school is crying poverty, saying they can't afford to upgrade facilities and asking for donations, while at the same time handing out a hefty raise(I assume) to a coach who had been here about 2 years and accomplished nothing of consequence, that I have a problem with. As I said in an earlier post, good for CMA and his agent. Time will tell if it was good for the school. But let's face facts, CMA's agent knew he had SJU by the balls. No way in hell they could say no. And mark my words, the next time we are even slightly successful, his agent will be in Shanley's office looking to renegotiate an even better deal. Like I said, there's a pattern there.

Possible, but we were absolutely desperate and have a history of making really bad deals. He was making 2 Mil when he left Missouri and at least 2.6 Mil when he was fired from Arkansas. Jimmy Sexton, on of the shrewdest guys around, is his agent. My guess, knowing his agent's history and our history, he got around what he was making at Arkansas, plus the raise last year. So to me that puts him in the 3 Mil range. . But I could be wrong and we'll  likely never know

Main man .asked how are we doing now that the game ended a few hours ago. I can’t remember who posted it but he used the word indifference and that is right on. Two games ago there was still an outside chance to make the dance and you could see watching the games the effort wasn’t there. Do some players have a foot in the transfer portal?
Yet it probably doesn’t matter one bit, if SJU loses some players they will bring in similar talented players like last year. Will Anderson survive? Does it matter ? He will be replaced by someone of equal talent and both this year and next SJU will probably meet De Paul in day one of the big east tournament.
This program needs some kind of explosion to change the way it is going.

It's been a few hours now.

How we all doing?

I've sewn up the slits on my wrists and sent a strong email to Cragg respectfully requesting that we replace some of the dance team./media/kunena/emoticons/silly.png

The press is a joke. I am officially tired of it. It is a net negative for this team.

The defensive system & the NY media...lol.

You can thank Mike Cragg for that.

I was looking forward to seeing Beast of the East’s take on the game. Perhaps he saw something positive from it? How the hell can anyone watch the team give up 99 points to a league bottom feeder and believe we are headed in the right direction?

No way to dress it up.  We just looked sad out there.

I'll continue to watch, but I am essentially on to next year.  Not much interested in the NIT.

I wonder if there is a buyout for us in that contract. Fire Mike  and let's get Pitino before Seton Hall grabs him

Even if we made our layups and hit our free throws I’m sure DePaul would have figured out a way to score 115 last night.

There is a reason Anderson was fired from his last job.
