I don’t know how anyone can say that this season has been remotely successful  as the Johnnies have still not beat a team in the Big East with a 500 or better record.

Bad home loss after being up 7 at the half. The team always looks good in blowout wins but if it’s close and coaching/strategy is needed…… ??????
Creating your own fallacies to argue against again, huh?  Who said anything about the season being successful?

I thought you were done "posting for awhile...."
Maybe you should keep up with the postings as many posters argued with me when I stated the season has been a disappointment. In terms of not posting, I did take a few days off. In terms of your posting, perhaps you should.
How many posters stated this season is a success?  I'll wait.

You took maybe three days off.  That's not staying away for "awhile."  Maybe you should learn to be true to your word and learn the meaning of words while you're at it.

I'd run laps around you, Mr. Fallacious.
Nah, you’re not sharp enough to do that at all. You only come on here when you are in attack mode but offer nothing of substance.

While I’m sure I’ll be reprimanded for this, the site suffers when those who operate in attack mode are allowed to persist.

Season over. Glad I missed this one. Swept by Nova, UCONN, PC & Creighton., no way we are a tournament team. I've put the balls away in my head.

It is amazing how Champagnie disappears . He is too laid back.

Season almost over and still no signature win. 2 best wins are SH and X and as of right now both of those teams are under .500 in BE. Very disappointing to say the least.

Every time this team has a shred of expectations in a big spot they find a way to shrink.

If you look at those losses you’ll see a stat line for 2-3 players similar to what Champ/Wheeler turned in. Not bad games but horrendous ones. It’s almost inconceivable this has happened so often

You project well per usual.  You also speak like someone in particular who has been around here previously.

Feigning the victim, huh?  Your post screams like a multiple banned poster.  How about standing by your word and disappearing for "awhile."

Look at the positives. There is always next year or year after or year after. Baby steps.

You must be a brooklyn Dodger fan. Wait till next year lol

I am sure someone will point out that Willard and Cooley would have lost that game also if they were in their 3rd year with their schools.

Tough to continue to root for this team when they let you down so often.  I guess it’s like being a fan of the Jets or Mets.

Some want to be the man and others prefer less of the spotlight. If I had to offer an explanation for Champ, he is the latter. When he misses early, he seems to lose total confidence in his shot. He does other things well, and he keeps plugging away. But he does not have the mentality that most big game players do. Which is just give me the damn ball and get out of my way.

4 for 26 between Champ and Wheeler. Poor shot selection or not, it's just bad.

I dont know if it was bad shot selection; JC missed some close in, open shots
Wheeler was 1 of 9 but most were good looks. He didn’t seem to have his legs.

Champagnie forced a lot of bad shots

Williard probably wouldn't have been in the game in year 3 at Seton Hall.  The coaching part was never a question with him.  Once he finally embraced dirty recruiting, they had success.

I don't think Cooley ever has been a genius in terms of in-game coaching.  But, his player retention rate has been brilliant (in this era of mass transfers, experience makes a difference), and compared to Anderson, he's Albert Einstein WRT late-game offense, but then again, who isn't?

You have all tried to evaluate each loss. What went wrong? Who had off night? Does coach rely on same players day in and day out?

the program is clearly not meeting our expectations.  Shit or get off pot. The ‘U’ realized this for football

we are a doomed program that will never deliver or meet fan expectations

Champ leaves. Then what? Who do we blame for off night?

Our best player comes up small in big games.  We can blame anderson, cry that wheeler had an off night, whine about Wusu etc.

But the fact is our best player being downright awful in 8 big east games this year is the reason we are not dancing.

When some guys just doesn't have it on a given night and others are playing well, playing time needs to be adjusted. Champ and Wheeler had rough nights and should have sat more. Stanley and Smith played well and should have played more.

I was also pleased to see Pinzon back. In the limited minutes he played, Pinzon showed that he has the potential to be a very good player for us in the future. I also like Nyiwe's aggressiveness. If he learns to control it and cut down on fouling, he could be a big help next year as well.

I, too, noted Wusu's body language when they showed CMA "in the huddle" in the second half. The other four players were paying very close attention to his comments but Wusu was looking all over the place and appeared to have a smirk on his face. Not a good look IMO.

Bottom line, as many have said, when Champ goes 3-16 and Wheeler goes 1-10 in the same game, it's hard to expect us to win. At this point in the season, there are no moral victories. This was a bad and very disappointing loss.
