(POST-GAME) Butler, Tues. Feb. 12, 8:30pm, CBS SN / 970AM

This win tonight will make me punch my ticket to a trip to NYC for BE quarterfinals day. I am reasonably confident that at 6-6 we will not wind up playing on Wednesday night. Wish my confidence went beyond that.

If I was a Butler fan I would be screaming that Baldwin, my star player, who brought us all the way back tonight, did not get to touch the ball on the most critical play of the game.,,,but I’m not..so I’m delighted.

The way Butler shot the ball from 3, and turned it over, there are 10 teams in Division 1 that would have beat them by forty, and another 15 that beats them by 30. The fact that we needed the usual last few seconds drive by Ponds to get to overtime was pretty appalling. At least we all have a reason to get excited about the weekend. This team may play great-who knows? I have to say that I cringe when Simon has the ball and heads to the basket. His handle has become loose and his choices not the best. he gives maximum effort, and that should be commended.

Feel the same as most of you. Win is a win but it was not the effort i expected. I thought we would run them out of the gym honestly. The first half went according to plan. Not sure what went wrong but we definitely got sloppier. Hopefully Shamorie is ok. He was not that good tonight but the and one in overtime was huge, and hitting a free throw when his shooting arm was clearly hurting was huge as well

Year 1 8 wins
Year 2 14 wins 75% improvement
Year 3 16 wins 14% improvement
Year 4 18 wins and counting.

Building a program!!! Keep it up coaches, staff and players. Lets get NOVA this Sunday.

We never stepped on the throat when we had the chance. We did not pick up the D until late in the second half.

IF we make the tournament I will be very excited to see our names called but if that team that gets matched up with us has a strong front court it will be hard to even get excited for the game.

Ponds looked a little remote tonight. Don't know if he was sick or injured. I've come to expect more.

We would have outrebounded them by 15 if Roberts played all 40 :)

Always so uplifting, 72. Why even follow if it makes you this negative?

Let me let you in on a little secret...this is going to be the second best season, at worst, we’ve had this century. Stop being so miserable.

Least satisfying STJ win I can remember. After early lead rest of the game was what can they do that's predictable and wrong to possibly lose...oh that.
3-0 in OT this year, and still undefeated all time in bobblehead games!
The Walter Berry bobble head really doesn’t bobble that well but he is now sitting with Wennington, Jackson and Lopez.

Almost everyone did what they could to beat themselves. It's their trademark. Figgy silly fouls, Simon slips with the game on the line, missed free throws, the Heron errant pass when we had a small lead and the first half dumb technical. Ponds wanted to equal Heron's foolishness, but he fell short as he only got a delay of game warning for leaving the ball at half court. There were good moments, and the D really tightened up at times, but Butler made us looking silly on pick and rolls plenty. I don't sound happy, but I am thrilled with any win, but see no point in saying "yay us" after a too close for comfort win. Well, the season continues. Soon we shall see if it;s real hope, or just an illusion.

On the bright side if you count the Seton Hall game as a win we are 7-3 when we have all five starters.
