(POST GAME) #10 Creighton, Sun. Mar. 1, Noon, FS-1 / 970 AM WNYM

Not sure if it was already mentioned, but the lines to get into the building yesterday were pathetic. Multiple doors sat locked while hundreds of people piled into two entrances. I got on line to get in at 11:50 and missed the opening tip.
A lot to do with our location. When MSG is packed the entrance lines are very long also. Interesting, though, at Villanova you didn't have to go through metal detectors or a bag check. It was really great not to have to do that.
Agree on MSG--can be a bear with large crowds. As to security checks, it is a fact of life in the age we live in. One incident without checks could cause major damage to any sports franchise. Any event we go to in NYC has them. Didn't OSL have a game where someone was shot this winter. As they tell you when you fly, leave time for security checks.

Some wait is to be expected but yesterday only three doors were open and one was exclusively for students. I don’t know if they have more metal detectors but the line was worse than I’ve ever seen for one of our games and it wasn’t even a sellout. The picture I attached was from 11:50.

That picture is embarrassing.

I haven't waited on line at msg in a few years for more than 2 minutes and I'm usually in within 30 seconds. Never go to the main entrance. That's crazy. Just walk in the entrance in the back right near tir na nog and the post office and there is never a line

I went through the student entrance. Thought it applied to ex students as well.;) :) There were a few people both younger and older than "student age" on line ahead of me.

A couple of times I've gotten to games early, you can never predict N.S./G.C. traffic, and gone down to CA and waited in the cold and wind while the security guards didn't open the doors and just stood around and looked at the people, there were around forty of us, for ten minutes until they decided to open the doors.

The ushers and concession workers don't have to report until a certain time, so that is why security doesn't let you in before a certain time. These venues weren't designed for post 9-11 security checks, so it isn't even like the lobby can hold that many people if they let people past security.

I would say though that the largest issue is a better HVAC system to control the temperature once the place fills up.

I thought it was "brilliant" strategy having one entrance for Student's only, especially when they are on break. I got there around 11:40 and the problem was people even now can't figure out what they can't leave in their pockets (or just plan forget) and have to go back several times through the metal detector. When my Wife comes to the games, she leaves her bag home and I don't carry change so its, just my wallet, cellphone and one house key and one car key that goes in the bin.
Is anyone else really annoyed that our win yesterday is causing the local media to give Seton Hall praise for clinching a share of the regular season title?

To the Media and Seton Hall, don't thank us. We didn't win yesterday for you. Congrats, but SJU doesn't care. Let us enjoy our moment of winning, without mentioning another local program and their accomplishment.
I am glad we beat a top 10 team at Carnesecca. I couldn't care less that the win helped Seton Hall. We accomplished something that we hadn't done in 45 years and yet another team still has to be mentioned in the same breath. Simply frustrating when Seton Hall has already gotten a ton of well deserved credit and coverage all season through their own accomplishments.

Not sure if anyone has noticed, but if you look at our schedule we usually win 1 game and then follow it with 3 straight losses. This has been true for a big part of the season in conference play. We all get excited about 1 isolated win here and there, just imagine if we can actually string 3-4 together with the losses being isolated. I feel like we are so overdue for some seasons of having a surprisingly good Big East record. Our problem has never been OOC...we have gotten some real nice wins there and avoided most bad losses. Our problem has been conference play. Get more talent, learn to finish games, and maybe we will have a buzz again.
