1. NIL money is fluid. It will always increase, especially now that the schools will no longer be overseeing the money.
2. If you mean better preseason tournaments, I would expect that.
3. The Garden schedule will get better, but the school must prove it is worth it by consistently winning games first.
4. Nothing is done quickly when it comes to campus improvements. But again, if the program starts winning, money will come in and it can be used to improve the facilities.
Plus, by my calculation, we have 11 scholarship players who have the option to return and 3 incoming scholarship players. . .I believe that the standard max is 13 scholarships with the university having the option to extend for COVID-affected year.
In our case, that would make 14 scholarships - all of which are accounted for pending player exits.
Might be wrong but that is what it seems to be .
I do hope they get a contract signed before he takes a tour of the facilities on campus. He might run back to Iona!
Would assume that outside of salary and staff, NIL, Scheduling and Venue will be important points of discussion. I assume, he will wan to play most BE games at either MSG or UBS. SJ may want to schedule the top 4-5 BE games at MSG with the remainder at UBS where they get a better financial deal. Once they reestablish the program and demonstrate a track record for attendance at MSG, perhaps we can get back to the old arrangement (non-rental).
The schedule is where Cragg must step up.

Yeah, this might be the dumbest of all Goodie's tweets. You don't turn down a life time contract and get your employer to remove your buy out because you "want to stay". The only way he stays at Iona is if he has no other/better options. We saw that last year he said at Iona over interest from URI. URI is paying Miller $1.4M. doesn't seem like that big a jump.

Did he turn down the lifetime contract though? I don't think it was really offered.
Not technically, but in no way was he ever getting fired there. It was as safe as a lifetime contract.

RIck as the leverage and as I mentioned he will use it(as he should) to get things he wants(not a higher salary). With respect to the portal yes you expect a bunch of names to enter.....means nothing. When coach gets here he will meet with each player. Nobody will leave that quickly

I thought they allowed for expanded rosters until covid guys leave, but I might be imagining that.

No the expanded rosters were only for the one year. After that the teams had to decide how to make it fit within the 13 scholarships.
SJU is committing large amount of money for staff. It will be the highest paid staff in the BE from 3 assistants down to DOBO and analysts.
That is part of the deal, Rick wants to hire who he wants to hire and not be constrained by limited resources.
And working on NIL stuff.
Aside staff from and Iona currently, any names that come to mind?
