Your words are falling on deaf ears, you are so correct that this board has evolved into a win at all costs mentality.
On top of that I have a huge problem bringing in a pg who may or may not be better than Posh who has given it his all over the course of the past 3 seasons. He took a chance on us when we were in the dumps and has exceeded all expectations. To start talking about moving him aside for a MAAC player is just mind boggling IMHO. As a fan base we show zero loyalty. Shameful.
Personally, as a consumer of the product SJU puts out I have always said I prefer no player ever transfer out. Not one. Yet they do, over and over, and the idea is supposed to be that is fine. They are "following their dream." Which now means looking for more money. Money that comes from us, the consumers of the product.
Loyalty works both ways. If I say free transfer is bad for the game (as a ticket buyer of the product) I'm the bad guy for not wanting players to "follow their dream." If I say, okay it's free transfer now, hopefully the team I watch makes moves to upgrade the team, I'm a bad guy then too? That seems harsh.
The players sued to get paid and now they do. The threat of legal action by the players also has led to free transfers. If they want to roll back those changes "loyalty" as a fan comes back into play. Good luck with that.
These young men (they are not kids, many of us, like them, had jobs at their ages), are now paid professionals. On top of that, they get to be "free agents" and seek the highest payday possible annually, with no salary cap. The other side of that is the guys who can't cut it are going to get swept aside. These are the rules the players want - and you can't have it both ways in life.
As a fan who pays good money for a product I expect the team I root for to do what it takes, within the rules, to win. Those rules now include constant player movement.
The players want it this way, I think it's very misguided to make the consumers, on this board or anywhere else, bad guys for trying to adapt to the system that the players desire.
