Posh Alexander (BUTLER COMMIT)

Are you kidding me red drum? Posh played his heart out 95% of the times, the other 5% was when cuerbelo was in the game. Didnt eleveate our program? Um remember that covid year where we were winning at half time until the big east called off game for covid? He is part of the reason i would say HUGE PART of why we actually did win some games. Great kid played with heart. Was he an offensive spark plug, NO. But he was on defensive and his passing game was great too.
Posh wasn't on the team when the game was called via Covid.

He moved on because “he didn’t feel wanted” (his words.) Biggest blunder of the Pitino era so far, morally and strategically.
I ain't even gonna try to interpret what these kids mean when they say stuff like "I didn't feel wanted" or "they aren't showing me enough love" or any of those other nonsensical statements they make when they don't hear exactly what they want to hear. Posh could have stayed, he chose to leave. I have no doubt our backcourt will be much more efficient next season then it was last season. So he's in a better place and so are we. Win-win.

Aging myself, but back in the day, players made coaches see they were “needed”, I never once was made to feel “wanted” by any coach I ever played for (3 in HS and 1 in college). Never made an attempt to make any player that played for me feel “wanted.” What happened to competing and having the “seeds” and confidence to go out and you know, EARN your spot?
Oh, have times changed.

I'm aging myself too, and I know its somewhat generational behavior, but I knew we were in deep crap years ago when high school kids started saying "the schools(colleges) showing me the most love are..." Can you imagine, in the real world, when college grads are out looking for jobs, someone actually saying "the companies showing me the most love are...". If I were an employer and heard a prospective employee use that term-on social media or anywhere else-no way he'd be working for me.

Good post. NIL factors in plus virtual free agency puts players in sellers mode once again, where recruiting coaches tell them how great they are. They are all now para professionals, getting paid, so that contributes to the "How much am I going to get attitude", instead of selling "Here's what I can give." mentality.

I'm sure of one thing, if Pitino loved his game and thought him a valuable commodity, he'd be here.

That’s why many of these spoiled athletes don’t grow up.

I was the one who was spoiled, I grew up watching the classiest team of all time. But not only did the Knicks always carry themselves with class and grace, so did all the other teams in the NBA of that era. As did all the college teams. Boy have times changed. Lots more money, way less class.

C'mon let me help you old man. "Showing love" is simply saying showing interest in or being prioritized in some way.

A company can "show love by offering great benefits or a better salary or bigger bonuses than a competitor for example.

Really? So you’re also the type that would stick around in a job where you felt you were being underpaid, underutilized and undervalued? Anybody who leaves his or her job to find another one I presume is a “spoiled brat” under your “old school” analysis.

Make no mistake, basketball is a profession for Posh. And while I hate the transfer and NIL era, if a kid like Posh feels like he’s not particularly wanted/valued, who could blame him for leaving.

No one here knows the under-story. He’s gone, move on.
