Posh Alexander (BUTLER COMMIT)

C'mon let me help you old man. "Showing love" is simply saying showing interest in or being prioritized in some way.

A company can "show love by offering great benefits or a better salary or bigger bonuses than a competitor for example.
Thanks kid, your explanation just further proved my point about those kinds of comments being nonsensical, and serving no purpose in the real world. But then again, pro basketball(that includes college) ain't the real world.

Really? So you’re also the type that would stick around in a job where you felt you were being underpaid, underutilized and undervalued? Anybody who leaves his or her job to find another one I presume is a “spoiled brat” under your “old school” analysis.

Make no mistake, basketball is a profession for Posh. And while I hate the transfer and NIL era, if a kid like Posh feels like he’s not particularly wanted/valued, who could blame him for leaving.
Anyone who leaves their job for another job wouldn't be made out to be some sort of martyr. They'd be told "thank you for your contributions and don't let the door hit you on the way out". When I was young, I had to prove myself over and over to new bosses. I didn't run away when a challenge presented itself. Instead of staying and proving himself, he chose to leave. He can spin it however he wants, but he chose to leave. Good for him and good for us IMO.

I once had to reapply for my job after new leadership came in.
It's not the most uplifting process.
If competitors offered me the same job or better plus more money while my current employer dithered, I would have jumped ship in a nanosecond.

I don’t even begin to compare a career in which life responsibilities play a huge part in deciding whether or not to “stick around” to playing a game in college. And the record I am able to make my own money as I am lucky enough to not have had to work for anyone for a pretty long time.
Those life responsibilities caused me to move away from my “dream career”, coaching, and eventually move away from a “job” and open up my own business. I worked hard for that independence which probably has something to with my post that you decided gave you such insight into my life and values.
My last word on the subject with you.

Now he’s a question , was Pesci a more despicable character in good fellas or in Casino ?
He did have a good time with Sharon Stone in Casino . Better than DiNero did .
You talking to yourself again? 😂

Goodfellas. He lost a little with the midwest accent IMO. Plus it was almost the same role reprised, so the nod def goes to the 1st time around unless the 2nd time is substantially better

I was the one who was spoiled, I grew up watching the classiest team of all time. But not only did the Knicks always carry themselves with class and grace, so did all the other teams in the NBA of that era. As did all the college teams. Boy have times changed. Lots more money, way less class.
I think while i agree with you in general, we have a rose colored view of that era. Certainly it was the Knicks and not the great Celtics that made the NBA prime time television. Before their success the ABC Wide World of Sports on Saturday afternoon would often broadcast the deciding game of the NBA championship several days after it was played. That's how far the NBA was away from headlining the sports section till the Knicks.

The Knicks were smart - Dick Barnett had a PhD, Walt Frazier for years studied the dictionary to expand his vocabulary, Senaton Bill Bradley was a Princeton grad and a Rhodes scholar, Jerry Lucas a genius who once memorized the Manhattan phone book and i believe had a 4.0 GPA at Ohio State. Phil Jackson was auch an intellectual, he was on a different plane than his teammates. DeBusschere could have been a CEO and became in fact team President. So on and so on.

But that era had their share of brawlers and dirty players. Jack Marin would complain that when Bradley guarded him , he would be all scratched up. Other players complained that Marin pulled hair. Then there was the time where Jerry Sloan of the Bull got tangled up going for a loose ball and bit his opponent. Or the night Willis Reed got into it with Rudy LaRusso of the Warriors, broke his nose with a punch, then literally took on the entire Warriors team in the ensuing fracas. Or when Lew Alcindor took a swing at Dean Meminger after a rebound scuffle, and instead of running to join the fray, Willis walked the entire length of court wagging a finger in Alcindor's face warning him to never touch his teammate ever again. Alcindor looked terrified and was suddenly justifiably meek.

Then again, none of that contradicts that the old Knicks were a classy team playing classic basketball.

Comments from Butler board on Posh. They're thrilled to get him, as well they should be, but them thinking he's a pure PG is off. Although with guidance from Matta, he may well be.
good for Posh and good for the Butler fans. It's very amusing reading and contrasting the different views amongst the different groups of fans on the different forum boards - what did Obi-Wan say? Many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our point of view. Indeed.

Personally I don't mind seeing players like Posh or Wusu transfer within conference. The new Big East rule allowing for transfers to transfer within conference is designed to help the Big East. It'll help us next year with our UConn transfer. Why would it be better for solid players to go to other conferences? Unless if there's a stat out there indicating that players tend to put up big numbers against their former teams, then I'm glad to see Posh and Wusu remain in the Big East.

The better the Big East, the better it is for us

Reading that board reminds me of the old day, when we would get pumped up about landing guys like Armando Torres and Damon Sears
