Pitino

Look, if you have a chance to hire someone like pitino and become an instant winner, htf do you not hire him?
Not only would sju get pumped, but everyone in nyc would say oh shit pitino will be coach at st. John's, we gotta go to a few games. We'll be on bill boards not only in nyc but upstate ny, we'd dominate sports talk radio. Wtf could you not want that? Damn it.
The predictions on how long it will take for SJU to challenge first Prov, Seton Hall and Xav before moving up to challenge Vill if Cluess, Dawkins etc. are hired make me feel SJU has to take the heat and hire Pitino..
I believe ultimately they will take a lot more heat if they don't hire him and watch him coach in the Final Four with someone else.

If he won us a championship, would anyone be pissed that he bolted?
I'd be forever greatful to the man.
All I want is to witness with 1:00 left in the championship game is the REDMEN up 12pnts, all the subs come in, and in that final minute is chants of "WE ARE ST. JOHN'S", "REDMEN,REDMEN,REDMEN".
PITINO BRINGS THAT IN A F'ING INSTANT, THAT'S WHAT I WANT IN THE WORST F'ING WAY.

Sick of watching other schools celebrate championships, why not us?

Because it is important to hire a boy scout who has never made a mistake and is also an altar boy for Sunday mass. What makes you think this is about winning?!

Yeah the hire ups are a bunch of nerdy little wimps.
Sports is about winning and trying to be the best of the best, I really wonder why Cragg to leave Duke for this.
This is a no win situation. No money for a real candidate.
Everyone needs to ask themselves if Cluess is such a wonderful coach and great hire, WHY HASN'T ANYONE ELSE HIRE HIM?????? I'm really wondering.

You want and up and comer? Ok, I'm fine with that, and there are plenty out there.
I'm just so dead set again Tim.
I need to watch just some defense

If not, his son? :)

If not, his son?

Is there any talk of that possibility?

I think Tom Bradley wrote about his son.

I think that apology that he’s look for for from the feds may just be a deal breaker. Dumbest public statement ever made by anyone since Steve Rubell.

Pitino's my man! From this article, he wants back in game badly:

Pitino was intrigued. He was also bored out of his mind. He accepted the Panathinaikos gig on Christmas Eve. By Christmas night, Pitino was in Athens, staying in a cheap hotel across the street from the city’s rusting Olympic Park.

Wearing a scarf to practice in Panathinaikos’s freezing gym all winter, Pitino quickly saw what was wrong: the defense had to be overhauled immediately. Except, the offense was also bad. Pitino changed that after a week.

They MUST HIRE PITINO THERE IS NO OTHER CHOICE.

Since we cannot stop speculating about the next HC hire, is Ricky Jr., anything but a figment of Tom Bradley's amazing imagination?
His creds aren't great but they're good.

It would be so nice to be relevant again this is the one coach Available that gets us there. Some team is going to hire him , Calipari got in trouble at UMASS and then again at Memphis but Kentucky still hired him and look how that’s worked out. I’m not looking for squeaky clean and safe anymore I want to have a winning program! Sometimes you have to be willing to take a risk for a bigger reward!

Don’t believe everything you read. Panathinaikos have won the EuroLeague 6 times. They are a much more prestigious job than St. John’s. That’s unquestionable. In Pitino’s case he is a disgraced name who wants to show people in America he can redeem his reputation. This bullshit story about unheated gyms and volatile fans is just window dressing for the fact that this guy has a lot to prove and nobody in the United States will pay attention to him while coaching in Athens. Journalistic integrity once again proven to still be dead

If he 's such a great catch, why isn't he being sought after by other schools. I don't recall his name being mentioned with, say, the UCLA opening when they were looking That would've seemed like a match made in heaven.

Pitino would of had 0 interest in the UCLA job. He is not a west coast guy. We were lucky he was interested in us. Would be a perfect place here for him to rehab his image, while restoring our and his legacy. I still dont think this is a dead issue yet! Still can pic the garden rocking for Pitino and his johnnies
