Phillip Nolan, C - UCONN

Does anybody know how the visit went?

It was a disaster. The food sucked, there was a leak in the ceiling of the room he was staying in and the car that drove him to the airport got a flat tire and he missed his flight.

Not nice Moose. You know someone will read that quickly, think you're serious, and possibly have an accident in their pants.

:)

It went fine. All visits go fine (Unless Mike Jarvis is picking you up in a station wagon). The choice is in Nolan's hands and if he wants to prep a year to improve his game or join this great thing we have going here. We should know either way soon.

If that's the case, what happened to the schollie we were holding for Chandler?

I don't know. I just know its very clear staff wants to add 2 bigs.

We can possibly have Nolan and/or Chandler What if the both say no ?. Obepka looks like a definite no.

Is there any other really big body possibility. Pelle ? Is something incubating across the Atlantic.

Boarders are mentioning all sorts of combo lineups but we really need a quality big-- 6'10' banger !

Chandler is not saying no.
Relax

It may sound cocky, but both of 'em won't say "no." I know there is always a chance of both not showing up, but I sense one or both will be at St. John's.

Pelle? You can forget about him. He hasn't been on our radar in awhile. IMO, Pelle probably should head the JUCO route.

There is plenty of size (and depth) with the group we currently have in place. Not to mention, we're still gonna add a big before it's all said and done.

Pelle may consider University of Pluto. Seriously, this kid needs to develop some passion for BBall, appreciate his skills and potential and direct some energy to academics. Be a shame to see such opportunities wasted!

Pluto is no longer considered a planet. Just sayin. :)

Not quite: just left the Solar System for the ACC.

Allnet just listen to what Moose is saying and forget about any other allege situations. It's not like Moose is speaking in riddles. He's saying Chandler isn't saying no to us. Others are hearing that also.

The only way we don't get Chandler is if the ncaa screws us.

Our team is rapidly rising. Rejoyce

I would guess the fallback option is Raffington or maybe some big man that we haven't heard of yet that Lavin saw in his time overseas.

Nothing is happening overseas.

Even Phil himself confirmed it on Twitter. I don't know why anyone would want to go to UCONN right now, but best of luck to him in his college career. Hope this means Chandler is heading our way

I don't know why anyone would commit to UConn at this point, as well. But, UConn probably offered him the pie in the sky (no, I'm not talking about anything monetary). Nolan probably felt Chandler or possibly, Obekpa were headed to Queens and decided to head elsewhere.

I know myself and a few others felt the door was closed on Obekpa, but sometimes you never know when it comes to recruiting. I still feel comfortable saying, Chandler will be with us, but Obekpa could also find his way into our 2012 class.

Oh shhhhhhhhhhhucks. That's too bad. Hopefully Chandler is on his way soon and is qualified. Otherwise, slight disapointment. Still think the squad will be much better with our wiothout Chandler and Nolan, but a big guy would really help.

If Chandler comes, Nolan's loss is not a big deal. Without Chandler, let's hope Sanchez can play a solid 4/5 next year.

Zags Post on Nolan to UCONN.

It sounds like SJU did the best they could and were a leader with this kid, but maybe he always had his heart set on UCONN.

On the brightstide, Lavin has the program back at the forefront of recruiting. He's competing with the big boys, and while he may not have won this battle, its shows the progress he's made in just 2 years on campus. Now, let's close Chandler and/or Obekpa (i know, those chances are slim).
