Just did it as kind of a good triumphs evil type of thing but get your point
 
We really should lose to Penn St for one reason and that is they are a good 3 point shooting team (38% vs our 21%). 
But I think the Wizard of Lavinwood has a plan and that is for us to take twice as many threes and thereby even out the scoring. 
I also expect another roster change with Primo coming off the bench as well as  Phil Greene IV. Personally, I would tell Harrison not to take any shots in the first 10 minutes of each half to give SJ at least a fighting chance to keep up with the Nittany Lions 3 point show.  Push the ball inside and allow Jordan to penetrate. 
I expect this to be a close and fast game where we finally take advantage of our athleticism.

We will beat Penn State by double-digits. Take that to the bank. The scrimmages are over, the games begin.
Primo has a problem of disappearing, why put him on the bench? Start him, get it to him DOWN LOW early and make sure he touches it every possession after that. I'm looking forward to the games this weekend. We are....

How anyone can predict a double digit victory for this group is beyond me. If Longwood was the weakest team on our schedule and they did not have their best player on the court, who can we beat by double digits? I would be more worried about being beat by double digits and run out of the Garden. Woe is us when we meet Syracuse. Woe is us even when we meet Fordham. This team needs to press ALL GAME and go for layups ALL GAME. Press, press press. Where is the so called UCLA press that John Wooden made famous. Didnt Lavin pick that up out in CA??

Well some predicted a 20+ win against Monmouth but then predicted after the game that we didn't want to blow them out because we needed to practice for the 1st round of the NCAA. So 50% isn't quite Carnac stuff but it's better than me; I've never got one right......mostly because I never predict, thinking that's why they play the games because nobody but Jack Molinas (sp?) really knows who's going to win!!.
 
Cuse has much more simplicity in their defense which doesn't waver much, which is why they are always in control at that end. Their D is going to cause big problems for us as usual....

Can anyone please explain why St.John's and other schools have not adopted Boeheim's defensive philosophy of using the 2-3 zone as its primary defense.

Well, you guys called me crazy when I predicted a high scoring Wisconsin game too. I like our chances to win relatively comfortably. Longwood was a trap. Thanksgiving week and two games against teams from big conferences on tap for the weekend. They played down to their opponent. I expect the first fast start of the season against Penn State. Harrison will be locked in.

Duke never plays zone and look at their success. Every coach has their philosophy. If cuse doesnt go 6'8, 6'8, 6'10 across their front line with big long guards on the top of their zone then it becomes much less effective. In short, they recruit extremely well for their system.

I like the matchup zone if it's executed properly like we did in 2010.

There's a reason Cuse always gets pummeled in the NCAA tourney. Have a decent big who can flash to the foul line and the 2-3 is rendered useless.

Not necessarily true. I do agree though the need to use a high post but Cuse doubles quickly. Sampson or Sanchez has to hit the cutting wing or the corner for an open shot, hopefully.
 
Longwood guards penetrated our defense the way we should do to teams after all we have better players or maybe not? Team is hard to watch What happens when we play Cuse?

This is the game Branch steps up. 15 or so points, 4-5 assists. He's so important to this team. I really hope we don't see that stupid Sampson-Sanchez-Obekpa lineup to start. No wonder we always start slow.

If not, I expect a fast start and a big lead early. St. John's by 15.
