after thinking about it, if we got Clark and Simon, and then with one 2017 scholarship got a top 50 recruit, I think that team 2 years from now would be fine. Let's just wait and see what the staff does

Not just because staff likes him, I like him therefore I would be happy to get him. If you can't take someone disagreeing with you and you rather not post obviously that's your prerogative. You edits while I replied. It would take a lot for me to call someone a waste of a ship. I might not agree with it. And feel there is a better way to build a roster. But a waste is overboard for me.

No what I can't take is the one way street you and some others seem to have. If I can sit here and listen to some fans treat any kid we go after as the next coming I can also sit here and relay a report from someone I know who is very close and high up at MSU. It's ridiculous how any slight on anything lately is met with such resistance. I have no problem if you and 75 percent of this site wants Clarke here. But the other 25 percent should be allowed to say what they feel without backhanded comments like yours that are backed up with quotes like he has a better body that CJ like that's a determining factor.

And as far as recruiting goes the class of 2017 will be complete prior to the commencement of the season. So goes your theory.
If you have no patience find another team to root for.
As for me I am enjoying what I can and focusing on the positive.

Not trying to be condescending by asking this question, but what do you consider an embarrassing season? Because I have a hard time seeing St. John's winning more than 14 or 15 games next season. Considering they won 8 games this year, I think hoping for a 6 or 7 win improvement is about par for the course.

Unfortunately, rebuilding a program from the ground up does take time. My hope is that by year 3, the team cracks .500 and by year 4, we're possibly talking about an NCAA berth.

True.the season was expected . I for one enjoyed the new faces and the media buzz.I am optimistic about next yr it will be fun .So I am going to say 18 wins. Whatever it will be much better than this yr

If one of the longest losing streaks in the NCAA, or 1 big east win, isn't embarrassing to you at all, then kudos to you. Regardless of the fact that it was a new coach, it was still embarrassing getting blown out and losing like that. A similar season in any way is unacceptable.

I have overreacted to these types of posts, sometimes extremely arrogantly, because I don't understand them at all. So seriously, what does embarrassing mean in the context of what your expectations were? We had NO ROSTER when Mullin was hired. It has taken time, YEARS, for coaches like Coach K and Jay Wright to turn around programs taken over in light years better shape than we were. We have a strong recruiting class coming in and the advantage of the staff having a legitimate opportunity to work with the team in the off-season where the real work is done. IMO it will be embarrassing if we don't put a significantly better team on the court next year and win at least 15 games. No one liked the season we had but I don't see how anyone could have expected anything else.

Embarrassing in a general sense. I also had extremely low expectations, doesn't mean I'm not entitled to still feel embarrassed after such a crap season? Not blaming anyone or anything, it's just embarrassing losing that much in general.
