Bumping this thread because I just got a chance to watch his highlight film. I didn't realize how athletic this kid was. He would be a nice piece in the frontcourt. Would be quite happy with Orlando joining this team.
He's an enigma to me. He really does flash guard skills at 6'9...looks athletic as hell. How is he only putting up 10 ppg against Region 15 competition? I understand that Monroe has two very, very good guards that dominate the action, but this kid really needs to be dominating his competition more. His video playing for the Dominican was damn impressive. I wonder why his Domincan team coach, Calipari, isn't after him with possibly only one returning player (Wiltjer) that played more than 2 minutes per game, and as many as EIGHT scholarships to hand out?

This is what ultimately makes me nervous about Sanchez. I'm seeing a lot of big time schools recruiting him hard (i.e. Providence, Maryland, and Georgetown), but I'm just shocked to see him only scoring 10 PPG at a JC school. At the end of the day, I am under the assumption that all of these coaches know what they are doing and they see a potential gem playing at Monroe. Just shocked that he's not dominating the competition a bit more.

I believe Justin Brownlee averaged about ten points a game as a JUCO and he turned out to be a really good player for us.
May have to order a few Dominican flags next week. Hm!
FWIW what hole is Sancez supposed to fill anyway? Boards and defense in the post. If he does that and averages 8 ppg that would be great.
Sanchez is alot more skilled than we all might think! Think a poor mans lemarcus aldridge

Really? Sanchez is 3 inches shorter and 40+ lbs lighter. From what I remember aldridge was a low post bruiser. Don't see that comparison at all. But I haven't seen anything other than the highlight video.

Aldridge a Bruiser? Hes a finesse player in the nba.
I'm hoping Orlando is a bit more in the mold of former Maryland player Jordan Williams.
