Bobby Knight had a dirty program?
Maybe not, but he sure had a dirty mouth:https://setonhall.forums.rivals.com/threads/a-great-bobby-knight-moment.55316/
It's not his dirty mouth that bothered me, it was how h behaved but more importantly how he treated others. Bobby Knight was an arrogant MFer(that will probably get another of my posts removed) and a bully. He had a God complex and he always rationalized his boorish actions. He was given a far longer leash then he deserved because he won and was worshipped as a God by the Indiana fan base.
Agree with you completely, Monte. Only threw that link in for a little levity and as a glimpse into how boorishly (to borrow your word) he treated people. However, the video of his second rant captures not only how foul-mouthed and vulgar he was, but how abusive he could be to his players, often treating them like trash, and how everything was about him and his legacy.

In 2010 I was seated very close to the visitors bench at msg on the night we celebrated the 25th anniversary of our final 4 appearance.   At a pregame dinner the entire team was present.

We played Louisville that night and Norm's team thoroughly outplayed them.  Louisville's coach was livid and shouted vile profanities at his guys in various creative uses of F bombs and other assorted profanities.

Looie occasionally used profanity while coaching but I had never heard a coach spew such stuff especially that audible by nearby fans.

All I know is that it is highly doubtful that CMA would put the program into a situation that Michigan is in with Juwan Howard--regardless of whether and how Howard is disciplined.  That is a good thing for a school that holds on to ideals as a university, and not just as a basketball program.
Along with about 350 other D1 coaches.

Not limited to only physical altercations.  I doubt we will ever hear of any recruiting or booster (because we don't really have any compared to other schools) irregularities in this program.  I'd rather have a relatively clean program than a Bruce Pearl, Sean Miller, etc. Bobby Knight -type led program.
Knight would throw a chair at you for lumping him in with cheaters like Pearl and Miller. /media/kunena/emoticons/grin.png

I read the thread heading, then I saw Beast’s post, and I’m thinking when was Anderson in PR and what did he do?/media/kunena/emoticons/w00t.png

I’d much rather win than run a clean program. I’d take any of those guys over Anderson and it’s not even close.

I admire your honesty PDJ. It's
refreshing after having to weed through all the self riotousness and hypocrisy on this board.

Meh.
I'd rather have CMA over those guys. I just don't like them. They seem like little weasels ready to throw an assistant to the wolves to save their own neck. Basically Jarvis 2.0.
But resurrect Jerry Tarkanian who basically said "F you NCAA, I'm giving my players money" and I'm totally on board.

Uconn fans storm the court?  Nova is a 7 loss basketball team.  I mean, should we storm tomorrow night if we win?
I get called old every time I comment of something like this, so I'll sit this one out /media/kunena/emoticons/grin.png
I get it if you knock off the #1 seed in the country with a big upset.  Uconn was favored tonight.  Nova is not even in 1st place in the conference.

Johnny fans....storm the court if we beat creighton tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone know when the last time the court was stormed at Carnesecca Arena?

Thankfully your views on ethics aren’t shared by many St John’s alumni that I know of.

I can't remember a single time.   The only time in my recollection that we stormed the court was when we beat BC for the Big East title at MSG in 1983.   I was in the front row under our basket, and a frat brother suggested it to our large group (about 40 had tickets).   Everyone just followed suit when we did.   The videos are grainy but I could find myself in them.

Of course everyone would love to have a Squeaky clean program and Win.... that would be optimal. But i would not have an issue at all with a guy who skirted/bent/whatever... the rules to land kids who got us to the Promised Land (the round of 32 lol)...

And C'mon.... what these "dirty" coaches have done in the past is legal now (take away the ladies of the night lol).... people bring up "ethics", it's not like these coaches are defrauding investors/, they were paying kids who deserved to be paid. Got no problem with that - "one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws"

If Juwan Howard smacked himself in the head, and his own fans attacked him in a mob, would that be self-riotous?   /media/kunena/emoticons/smile.png

Ok you guys convinced me, I'm going to advocate cheating to Shanley, and the establishment of a St. John's sports book.    Our guys miss a lot of free throws and wide open shots as it is.   No reason we can't make a few dollars off of it by playing the spread.  It's actually a pretty good idea.    In fact, it's proven to be more reliable than paying your own players to win - we just pay other teams players to lose.
