Official SF Game Thread

Thing that annoys me with CBB, whenever we have bad games the turnaround is sooo slow. You stew in this loss for 3-4 days at a time before the team can redeem themselves.

Doolin is quick like the Baylor guard but not as fast.

He is nowhere near the echelon in speed or any other attribute of Pierre Jackson.

We guarded Pierre tighter than we guarded this kid. He's taking full advantage of it.

We were either out coached tonight or out smarted.

Out coached.... Out-smarted. Both goes hand-in-hand, if you ask me.

I know the 'adjusting' analogy that gets tossed around on message boards are usually just fodder when someone has no other reasoning why a team lost. Tonight, I didn't think we adjusted to what San Fran (mainly, Doolin) was doing.

We never made him feel uncomfortable.

This is a game I really didn't expect to win. Tough mid=major, on their court, possible NCAA team, 10 pm our time. I'm waiting to judge this team for real, once the Big East season begins. Tonight would be a good win, but definitely not much of a setback if we do indeed lose.

We are losing our composure a little here.

Why isn't this 'real'? Seems 'real' enough for me. We have work to do.

Wow. Really? I know, this would be a crushing defeat, wouldn't it?

Have a nice night.

I beg your pardon? Why isn't this game a good benchmark and learning tool for our team? Just because it isn't Big East play doesn't mean it isn't real... We just got crushed by a heady point guard. He exposed flaws. And the results of this game will definitely be real if we are on the bubble come March.

Holy christ. Reading is fundamental, huh?

I, ME, I will judge this team FOR REAL, when the BIG EAST season begins. ME.

I hate arguing on Internet Message Boards. YOU can judge them tonight.
They need to learn from tonight?? Wow. You should be a coach.

Is Cody Doolin the son of Robby Benson ??? (This is a joke by the way, movie buffs might understand)

Would like to see USF come to CA next season.

I believed it was mentioned earlier in the game that we would play them next season in NY. I'll be looking forward to it.

SF really isn't THAT good, our defense just had its worst game all year and let a mid major team shoot 50% and 60% from 3. SF is by no means a juggernaut. They played the game of their lives and will likely shoot 30% from 3 the next game. Anyone can get hot on any given night. Had to expect that we lose at least 1 of these OOC games other than Murray or Baylor, so let's win the rest and we are in a good spot.

I Never want to play anyone from the WCC EVER AGAIN!!!! Not Gonzaga, not St. Mary's and NOT USF..

Yeah...you ain't kidding about that. Have we ever won a game against a WCC team? The East Coast team flying West to play at a time that is more conducive to the West Coast team is always a big disadvantage it seems. Every sport, too.

Can't wait for 12/18 when Branch becomes eligible.

Hope Sanchez becomes eligible VERY SOON !

Maybe , he sure is playing the role.

so much for beating a mid major right.

USF is nowhere near those other teams you mentioned. We gave up wide open 3's all game and that's why we lost. SF had to play perfect to beat us and they did.

They're better than what you want to give them credit for.

And their dribble penetration was money tonight. Call a team hot when they sank the same corner 3s that every other team has nailed against us?

That is a fundamental flaw and failure to adjust on our behalf.

Well, we'll find out where San Fran is standing in March. It's too early to say whether they are a good team or not.

We played like crap for the most part, made a nice run in the 2nd half, thanks, mostly to Jakarr and we crapped out te last 7 or so minutes. Let's win these last 3 OoC games and get to the Big East schedule with a 9-3 record, which anyone really shouldn't be too upset about.

Once we get Branch playing, our 1 spot situation clears up big time.

They were favored.
Not an upset.
I'll stick with my 16-14 record.
Team just isn't good enough.
