Official SF Game Thread

We were either out coached tonight or out smarted. Could be both but this was awful how we haven't adjusted to 45. I could d this kid up better

This is a game I really didn't expect to win. Tough mid=major, on their court, possible NCAA team, 10 pm our time. I'm waiting to judge this team for real, once the Big East season begins. Tonight would be a good win, but definitely not much of a setback if we do indeed lose.

We are losing our composure a little here.

Why isn't this 'real'? Seems 'real' enough for me. We have work to do.

Wow. Really? I know, this would be a crushing defeat, wouldn't it?

Have a nice night.

I will make one observation, very surprised Lavin never really went to double team Doolin down the stretch here.

It is really frustrating to see a mediocre mid major do what we cannot. Dribble, drive, find the open shooter, or just take it to the tin. We are lost defensively. We are young, and lets not forget, the team 2 years ago lost a tough one at St. Mary's. But that St. Mary's team was way better than this USF team, and I truly believe our team was way better. Forget even a Hardy or DJ, we could really use a Paris Horne right about now.

No need to be sorry, he is. We can't contain him, as slow as he 'looks' when he gets by the initial pressure.

Definitely thought the same. We have the speed to do so and recover. Rather that than our zone and help defense which got burned all night.

I usually always wait until the conference season before I judge a team. We just have to regroup and go from there.

We did a poor job containing Doolin, and that is gonna be our downfall tonight. He controlled the game from the start. We never did anything to take him out of his comfort zone.

Because your post was as if the comments were not warranted.

Why the guilty conscious? Why do you care what I think? I was making an observation.

Win or lose, this is this team. Plain and simple.

Yes this is the team and they are not above criticism.

Of course not. But, it's hilarious to me that as soon as SF had a 10-point lead, this game was "over" to certain people. I never said anything about you, so why the guilty conscious, I don't get it.

we said that when they had a 15 point lead, and the game IS over.

I said, I would've pressured him after made baskets. I also just recently typed that we never did anything to make him uncomfortable.

This is the last I'll comment about this to you.

It wasn't about a 10 point lead, anyone who watched the first half knows that it was not about a 10 point lead.

It was about the effort level of the team and fundamental mistakes, especially on the defensive end.

Just stop with your rhetoric already. This team has played poor first halfs all year long. But this first half was different. They were literally sleepwalking on the court. This wasn't the Detroit first half. Closer to the NJIT first half but much worse.

You saw it. We all saw it.

Stop trying to pacify everyone because you want to act like they should be streaky because they're young.

Got it?

This is NOT a tournament team. Will be destroyed in the BE this year.

Might be lucky to get to NIT if can pull out a couple of wins in BE

Is Cody Doolin the son of Robby Benson ??? (This is a joke by the way, movie buffs might understand)

Would like to see USF come to CA next season.

Can't wait for 12/18 when Branch becomes eligible.

Hope Sanchez becomes eligible VERY SOON !

I beg your pardon? Why isn't this game a good benchmark and learning tool for our team? Just because it isn't Big East play doesn't mean it isn't real... We just got crushed by a heady point guard. He exposed flaws. And the results of this game will definitely be real if we are on the bubble come March.

Frankly, I don't think USF was as good as most of the teams we have played...just a piss poor defensive effort ...

I think Greene has played himself onto bench once Branch arrives...

Give credit to the San Francisco defense. Harrison has been off, but really hasen't had a lot of good looks, either.

I hope Branch is the real deal. Could have used him tonight. Doolin just did whatever he wanted. :(. Oh we'll, lets get to 9-3 before Nova. Everyone keep your head up and let's shake this one off. Only one game.

Fine. You win. Happy?
