Official 2013-2014 Schedule Thread

A long way to go from Arcata for a beating.
Another beautiful part of this great country. A place caught in a time warp from 1968. Hicks, college students and old stoners all getting along.

And the best weed in the country according to some friends.

"according to some friends"

I've always considered my lungs to be friends. :cheer:

Marshall Henderson and Ole Miss will play in Brooklyn at Barclays Classic Nov. 29-30. St. John's, Ga Tech and Penn State also in the field.

I'd love to see us play Ole Miss and stick Dom on Henderson. I can see the whining already. Plus in comparison to Henderson, D'Lo looks humble.

@GoodmanCBS: Brooklyn Hoops Winter Festival at Barclays is Dec. 28: Kansas State faces Tulane, St. John's vs. Columbia and VCU against Boston College.

So by my calculations we have the following so far:

Nov 29-30 Barclay's Classic with Ga Tech, Ole Miss & Penn St
Dec 7 - Fordham (MSG)
Dec 15 - Syracuse (MSG)
Dec 28 Columbia (Barclays)

Not bad so far, 2 locals & at least1 ACC (2 if we end up playing Tech) & a possible Big 10 or SEC team on the slate.

- Duke and UCLA are finalizing the details to play a game at Madison Square Garden in late December, per multiple sources. The date of the game has yet to be determined.

Duke claimed they couldn't fit us on the schedule. I would've loved to crush them at MSG this year.

That would suck if true.

Is NYC the only city where teams randomly schedule non-tournament games? They would travel 800 and 3000 miles for a neutral sight game.

If they did that exhibition game on the road you'd probably have the biggest redmen.com road trip contingent ever

Wow!! How about this: St John's to open season against Wisconsin in South Dakota

I'm not even sure how to get to South Dakota.

I guess figure out a way to get to North Dakota first and write it off as a trip to visit some companies working on the bakken shale and drive south to the game :)

I'm sure Traczok is going to figure out a way to get his wife to go under some illusion of great Dakota shopping. Will have to have a redmen.com party at mt rushmore. or is rushmore in N Dakota ?

They better work their butts off on the Euro trip.

Extremely tough game to start the season, especially in that location.

Count me as one of the 5 :) I do wish the game was at Madison. Always wanted to see the campus.

Agreed. Don't know if I like us in this matchup. It's gonna be much easier for Wisconsin to slow us down, then it will be for us to force Wisconsin to play up-tempo.

I give us at least a decent chance though. At least the game's not in Madison. That would have been near impossible.

Talk about conflicting styles of play. This will be a great early test. Wisconsin loses its top three rebounders and two of its top three leading scorers, but they will be a lock for another 20+ win season. I really like the rising soph wing, Dekker a lot. They also have that kid Brust who hit some huge shots that made us all wonder if he was related to Matt Brust...he's a nasty volume shooter.

Why am I not surprised :)

What job do you have where you can piggyback every game to a business trip. And to an obscure location like the Dakotas.

I work in Healthcare IT field. My latest client is in Chicago where I am surrounded by a few DePaul grads who don't like bball!!! Can't blame them I guess given recent history. Just want a strong league. My schedule is flexible so I hit all the major sport stops including where my Johnnies play.... the shhhhhh answer is the MD grad for Wisc and he signs the bill :) and I get a tour of Madison campus and a football game. Yeah, I am pathetic ;)
