Off Season Tidbits
Big East X factor guy;

St. John’s – Greg Williams Jr., Sophomore, 6-foot-3

Williams played in 28 games as a freshman, but only averaged eight minutes in those contests. Expect that minutes-load to rise as Mike Anderson enters his first season. Word out of Queens is that Williams has made strides in the offseason. Williams did shoot 20-of-40 from the field as a freshman and was regarded as someone who could provide a defensive lift, but with little sample size, it was tough to know what his full capabilities could be for the Johnnies. There’s no question Williams will get an opportunity to become a backcourt staple this season.

Hard to predict his role with too much specificity until the Dunn waiver process plays out

As many have said before, Williams and Roberts should flourish in CMA's style of play
Both should be in the rotation and, in time, should be major contributors to our success

What impressed me most about Williams was his power drives to the basket. Looking forward to his hustle on defense.
Not trying to start WWIII here, just figured many of you would be interested. A recent former player gave me some insight on the Mullin era. Apparently Mullin showed up late consistently, no one on the staff even tried except St. Jean (who still wasn't very good but at least tried) and Matt A. Mitch really did do nothing as we suspected. Noted that the staff were good guys but clueless overall. Disorganized, dysfunctional, etc. Also noted that staff left immediately after the NCAA loss and that was the last they saw of them. Just ridiculous really. The former player also said that he thinks this current staff is very good and a massive improvement. Just interesting to hear directly FWIW.
Sounds like you listened to the Phavre Phan podcast
Now you know why Slice took his big paycheck and got the hell out
Slice didn’t get the hell out. If it was strictly on his on accord, he wouldn’t have gotten the big paycheck.

Heard similar from a former player 4 years out who liked the hire and was on board at the beginning.

Heard similar things from local assistant coaches

I think we all already knew plenty about what Mullin wouldntnor didn’t do. At the time they were just rumors but then the laziness and stubbornness became apparent to all. He was a good hire in theory to some because if his pedigree and many thought he’d bring his gym-rat mentality to coaching which he didn’t. He wasn’t fully invested in it. He also seemingly didn’t go quietly which was frustrating as well. Should always have hired a real coach bottom line.

The problem was compounded by having Mitch as an assistant. If we had an experienced associate head coach w fire in his belly, we may have overcome Mullins deficiencies. But, 2 laid back coaches w no experience ,who spent summers in Cali was not a good situation.

Sounds like Mullin's coaching experiment may be remembered as the Mullin Error instead of the Mullin Era.
