Obekpa's Next Move

He will never play for them or any other college squad.

What makes you say that? Because he failed a drug test (one that none of us know any details about)? Going by the numbers, DLo was suspended more in his career than Obekpa...

DLo was suspended for a longer duration, not more times. I believe DLo was suspended once in his career, his sophomore year due to his behavior. Suspension lasted the rest of the season. One suspension of a longer duration as his behavior was deemed to be detrimental to the team.

Obekpa was suspended twice this season. Once by the team for violating team rules (two week suspension during NCAAs the equivalent of four games) and one game by the NCAA for intentionally elbowing an opposing player in the head.

Last year, he was suspended for the two exhibition games for violating team rules (could that have also have been a failed drug test which is why he was suspended for two weeks or four games this season as a repeat offender?).

I say that because every year he flirted with declaring for a draft that he would not be part of and he was ultimately unable to keep himself eligible academically. I will be shocked if he suddenly develops the discipline to become eligible again, as I'm sure he will have voices in his ear talking to him about his "future". We will see a year from now if I am right.

Jordan was the one that was declared academically ineligible, not Obekpa.

Just let it go guys. I get the sense that CO is not a bad guy, just a knucklehead. I hope he grows up a little in the year he has to sit, and has a bang up year. Obviously he was wounded a bit by what we've said about him, an indication that he's not this evil guy. Pulling for him, just too bad it couldn't have been here with his head screwed on straight.
