Obekpa Suspended

I think this increases the odds that President Gemepshaw decides to "clean house", and install an athletic director that he has vetted, and a coach whom he has signed off on.

I have no inside knowledge, but that seemed to be a possibility all along. This can only increase the odds. But, I imagine, all options (including an extension) are still on the table.
Been my feeling for a while (which, might I add, is irrelevant).

We've won a few games with Obekpa basically non existent. We can only hope that the shooters are on. In the beginning of February when he either didn't play or was limited in minutes we won 3 in a row... I'm not saying that's what we want, but we obviously can win without him. Granted the guards need to be firing on all cylinders. Hoping we can pull at least 1 game out

"This has put me over the edge regarding Lavin. I can't take this anymore. I am so done.

and exactly why is this lavin's fault? "

It's lavin's fault because he recruits kids that don't obey team / school rules. It's very simple.

Agreed. We'll be facing a middle-of-the-draw team, which likely means no dominant big guy on the other side. Our success is built on speed and athleticism. Turn our guards loose and see what happens.

One win seems possible.

Waiting for first comment that Joey DelaRosa can do just fine manning the middle. :)

This is the first post of yours that I ever agreed with. F Obekpa.

I think were all gluttons for punishment. Being a fan of this program is an ordeal.

I like to think of it as when we all die, there are spaces in heaven served for all of us.

There better be for all this pain we are going through!

This scumbag wants to preach about ethics now?

Why is he a scumbag and what issue has he had with ethics? Maybe I am naive but I really don't know.

I am so pissed right now but if the suspension was valid isn't Obekpa the one to blame?

I was down on Lavin mid year but thought he did a good job bringing the team together to make the tourney, but the way we showed up in the BE and now this, I am down again. Surely he was backed into a corner by CO but there is always a black cloud over the program. I say kick CO off the team and start all over with a new coach next year. He can bring in his own players. There are plenty of hungry mid major coaches out there. Depressing news on the brink of our first NCAA in years. Ugh,

Serious question, has a coach ever been let go with years remaining on this contract after being in the NCAA tournament?

You think there is a chance that Rasheed will get the start?

Rothstein reporting is "similar to the willie Shaw situation in 2002" which would be a failed drug test.

If that's the case don't praise Lavin for coming clean bc it's mandatory before the NCAAs and not something u can just sweep under the rug.

Not a guarantee. He might start Amar or JDR in Obekpa's place and still start Branch.
