Is there one media report confirming the suspicions here? Whether true or not, there has been more drama in Lavin's 5 years than Looie's entire career. Maybe some will blame it on the internet and the 24 hour news cycle exposing things that would have stayed quiet during Looie's time. Sure, stuff happened under Boeheim, Calhoun and other hall of fame coaches. It just seems a little bit too much drama than we are used to at SJU. I thought that would have ended with Pittsburgh. Maybe there just isn't enough discipline here.

All news outlets have covered at this point, very confirmed. Selection committee was informed as well, this afternoon. School is about making mistakes and learning, and I suppose this is no different. Just some awful awful timing. It matters in any match up, but with SDSU, if our guards don't hit their shots, it won't matter whether CO is in or out.

I just found out about all of this. I spent the day teaching my son to say "Go St. John's" when prompted. Why is it so hard to be a fan of this program? We get a great draw first and second round and then lose any chance of seeing the second weekend with this suspension? This is like a cruel joke. What a selfish move by Obekpa...these seniors can't catch a break.

Accept it, it's life as a SJU fan. Expecting a fun days, but there had to be something to smack us down to reality. Don't ever get to excited.

we actually got a favorable draw. This is as good as we couldvery hoped for basically.
And Duke deserves their seed. They are one of the 4 best teams in the country. If we had a full squad I'd be ecstatic about our chances.
 
I have posted more than once (shocker) that this program is a train wreck. I didn't and don't say it lightly or without some insight. For many who don't remember I was one of the last to jump off Norm's bandwagon because he did all things the right way but in the end he just couldn't get the job done. Mt point is I am not a bomb thrower or one to not wait for ample evidence before making a decision or forming an opinion.
Take any incident out of context and blame the subordinates, take multiple incidents in total and blame the leader. The atmosphere around this program is obvious with all the well documented and public incidents; IMO it is a testimony to Lavin's PR ability and personality that the state of the program hs not brought him down yet. But all the apologists answer this; for all the problems gone public do you really believe there are none that have seen the light of day. There have been plenty, a train wreck's worth!!

Maybe Fun can do some pro bono work and get a stay on the suspension until after the tournament. These drug tests aren't perfect. Maybe C.O. thought it was a Hookah pipe. Or he was at a party and second hand smoke infiltrated his system.

With Jordan it's 50/50. Does he take his chances and try to get a late 2nd round pick, or does he return with it looking like he can freely chuck up 30 shots a game and get his stock up. We will see. I don't expect obekpa back at this point but I said the same at this time last year so we will see
