Obekpa Suspended

I think next year we have no Obekpa, no Sheed, no Lavin, no Sampson.

I agree with all of that except Sampson. I think he can be convinced to stay.

I agree. From what I've seen reported on the kid and from his coach, he seems like a real good kid with a good head on his shoulders and is committed to coming here. Obviously I'm just speculating though.

This will def hurt our seeding. Didn't they use DJ injury as reason we were a 6 or whatever. Seriously what was the rush to announce this unless he now has a built in excuse for not winning a game in tourney

Heard it was mandatory to immediately report to NCAA, what appears to be drug testing issue. Am sure SJU Administration was in the loop quickly.

Do they really have mandatory testing for weed? I don't remember that. Of course I have forgotten most of the things I did in college. But I think I sort of remember one in the very beginning of season, but I might have just peed in a cup for a different reason altogether? I would think if it is mandatory testing the NCAA would have a hard time having enough players.

Every athlete has to get tested before competing in an NCAA championship event.

Ok that explains why I don't recall ever being suspended.
Are they surprise tests? Because Golden Seal Tea did wonders if memory serves.
AT LEAST WE NOW KNOW WHY OBEKPA IS ALWAYS GRINNING

lol
I just said the same thing on JJ.
Everybody knows you buy the juice at GNC and it masks your piss.
Now, if youre into something "harder" than weed, you're in trouble. But the bottle from Vitamin World prevents most of the world from failing a piss test for weed.

Back in the day I knew I had a test and I had to drink a gallon of crappy tea that flushed it out of your system. That was with a days notice. As I said I am sure it is more advanced now. However if it was a surprise test and someone just showed up with a cup.......

5 years to be finalized in April per the #1 guru lol

Do you know anyone with drug or alcohol problems? I know some, including a few on this board. Should their bosses be fired for that, or parents? Just a thought. Think hard.

Keep your personal fued with TIS off the board

I was just reporting what was said on Twitter earlier this week.

No you are picking a fight. Keep it in twitter and off the board.you and your dad don't like TIS. That is fine, but don't clutter this board with it.

My friend in the police academy said that they even do a hair test where take a piece of your leg hair and test it for traces of smoke from weed

I would be happy to see Lavin not come back next year but I don't understand why everyone is pissed at him unless they are pissed at him for recruiting Obekpa.
If it was in fact for a failing a drug test then he should be kicked off the team for good. Not that smoking week should even justify a penalty in my mind but because it would put SJU in a position that they had no choice but to suspend him. Based on him quitting last year as we were trying to make the post season and in the post season and his continued behavior, and now the severity of this, we are better without him. You can only give a kid so many chances - he has hurt the team drastically each of the last two years. Its not fair to his teammates
Good riddance - hope to never see him on the court again.

It has been awhile Connor. But I thought that tea, or whatever it is, still worked.
I thought it was hair testing was how people got caught nowadays.

I think he should be fired for the overall body of work.

Maybe instead of singling me out here u should go to the obekpa suspended thread and go after some of the posters who are slamming him because that I didn't do.....

http://redmen.com/forum/4-redmentalk/43758-obekpa-suspended?start=120

t's not forget to slam Obekpa for being an absolutely gigantic piece of garbage for doing whatever he did to get suspended on the eve of the most important day of his college basketball career.

You could be right. Been a long time since I was tested for a job interview.

If it's weed, like it's being reported, then we are doing the right thing, considering that unreported failed drug tests were in the Syracuse report.

I'm all for playing dirty, if it's justified, but not here.

This has put me over the edge regarding Lavin. I can't take this anymore. I am so done.

and exactly why is this lavins fault?
he recruited him

Just like a boss gets the blame for stuff that happens on his watch with employees

I don't care what happened. How many of the other teams in the field does this happen to today

So if an employee gets a DUI or breaks some other law on his own time, is that also the fault of his boss?

What do you want Lavin to do...keep an eye on these kids 24/7?
