It's obvious that the 4 best teams in the AL all reside in the East division. One of the four is going to miss out completely. Right now, you'd say it's us, but that can still change. Just get in, then anything can happen.

I don't know if the seasons hangs on Cole as I don't have any confidence they make the playoffs even with him. You are right that without him, its definitely sayonara.Moose post=438886 said:

No heart, can't make adjustments, too many of the same type of players who when things go bad, they all go in the tank. Bullpen strength is now gone (since the removal of the sticky stuff, Chapman has been horrible, who knew), Green is okay except for the 9th inning which means he can't close and Loaisiga still can't stay healthy and might be (probably is) done for the season.
When things are rolling, they roll (13 game win streak), however I think that's it for them. They don't have a winning record against the teams in their division (except the Orioles and they lost 2 out of 3 to them last weekend) and 13 of their last 23 games are against teams in their division (including 3 with the Orioles so hey we got that going for us, maybe).

What an inexcusable play by Stanton dogging it into second base on an easy double. Just inexcusable. Nothing more, nothing less. Defense still horrible. Cost a ton, especially in extra pitches. Where was Green tonight? They certainly could not have been saving him to save a game! 2 meaningless homers in the 9th. I guess Heaney is loose to start Sunday night. Urshela? Wow. What a different player right now.
