cole is a great pitcher. i love him.
i just think the world of german.
with deivi, the upside is limitless.
this team has the best/deepest starters in a long, long time.
Not sure Devi's upside is limitless. He gets compared to Pedro Martinez a lot, but if you watch him pitch, his stuff isn't the same. Pedro threw 95-97 with movement to both sides of the plate and his changeup was lethal.
Devi throws a flat 4 seamer and has an OK change up. His stuff is more like Marcus Stroman than Pedro. That's nothing to sneeze at but it isn't top of the rotation stuff.
I see the rotation this way:
Opening Day: Cole, Kluber, Tallion, Monty, German
After Sevy returns: Cole, Sevy, Kluber, Taillon, German/Monty
Post Season if all goes reasonably well: Cole, Kluber, Sevy, Taillon
The depth and potential of the Yankees starting pitching is insane. Never seen anything like it in pinstripes:
Cole
Sevy
Kluber
Taillon
German
Montgomery
Garcia
Schmidt
King
Gil
Loisiaga
Scary thing is there are 10 more guys behind them in the system with huge upside. Good times to be a Yankee fan for sure.
