Not sure Devi's upside is limitless. He gets compared to Pedro Martinez a lot, but if you watch him pitch, his stuff isn't the same. Pedro threw 95-97 with movement to both sides of the plate and his changeup was lethal.section10 post=426947 said:
Devi throws a flat 4 seamer and has an OK change up. His stuff is more like Marcus Stroman than Pedro. That's nothing to sneeze at but it isn't top of the rotation stuff.
I see the rotation this way:
Opening Day: Cole, Kluber, Tallion, Monty, German
After Sevy returns: Cole, Sevy, Kluber, Taillon, German/Monty
Post Season if all goes reasonably well: Cole, Kluber, Sevy, Taillon
The depth and potential of the Yankees starting pitching is insane. Never seen anything like it in pinstripes:

Sevy
Kluber
Taillon
German
Montgomery
Garcia
Schmidt
King
Gil
Loisiaga
Scary thing is there are 10 more guys behind them in the system with huge upside. Good times to be a Yankee fan for sure.

the anemic yankee bats scored 7 runs against the jays pitcher, that last year had the second worse era in baseball.
frazier and voit hit the ball well.
oh, and by the way the yankee starter went 5 good innings.
struck out 8, when the ump had a very narrow plate all day long.

Setback for deivi today.
the yankee lineup was filled with first stringers, but got hit with the ugly sticks. ten total bases. no runs.
stanton stays red hot. gardy making boone's lf decision tough.
gittens struck out swinging on what was probably an illegal spitter.
I have the 1:45am to 2am stand-up spot at the local cracker barrel!

If Frazier doesn't play 130 games/500AB, at a minimum, then Boone and Cashman should find other work.section10 post=427671 said:
This is exactly the reason I didn't want Gardner back. Fans, and the press/talking heads will be pushing for him every time Frazier goes 0-12. He's a nice security blanket as a 5th OF, but it will be criminal if we get to November and we still don't know what Frazier can do.
