I think it has to do with the restrictions for many spring training sites.  For example the Yankees position players are at Steinbrenner Field and the pitchers are at the Minor League complex next door.  Or maybe its vice versa.

Or maybe its Manfred trying to ruin the game too.

My automatic response when change is brought up  (except for the universal DH) is "Manfred is trying to ruin the game again."

Spring Training games that occur from February 27th through March 13th may be shortened to seven-inning games or five-inning games upon mutual agreement of both managers. Games that occur on or after March 14 shall be nine-inning games (and, upon mutual agreement of both managers, can be shortened to seven-inning games).

Another spring training rule put in place is from February 27th through March 13th defensive teams the right to end an inning before recording three outs, so long as the pitcher has thrown at least 20 pitches. Also during this time frame, the three-batter minimum for a pitcher won’t be enforced.

Lastly, in all spring training games pitchers will now be allowed to re-enter the game at any point and games can end in ties."

Yankees manager Aaron Boone will be taking a leave of absence to undergo surgery to receive a pacemaker, the team announced. The surgery is scheduled to take place Wednesday in Tampa.Boone, 47, underwent open-heart surgery in 2009 due to bicuspid aortic valve, a heart condition that he’s had since childhood.

I am a Yankee fan. Lou Gehrig #4 the “Iron Horse” who played 2130 games in a row, the first player to have his number retired, with a lifetime .340 batting average, a graduate of Ivy League’s Columbia U, from German immigrant parents, lost his life to the disease bearing his name.
Major League Baseball  just announced that they will henceforth celebrate Lou Gehrig day June 2nd

Yankees now at 3-2 after giving up 2 TD's and a two point conversion to the Phillies losing 15-0

Garcia gave up 2 runs in 2 innings and then the next 6 pitchers will be nowhere near the roster.

I watched the game and it was actually 5 field goals as their defense was pretty stout  keeping the Phillies out of the end zone. /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png

Yanks played a full 9 inning game (well 8 and 1/2 anyway). They must be exhausted.
