Really shitty loss today. Can't lose a game with your ace on the mound with a 3-1 lead. I was shocked he didn't come out for the 8th at under 100 pitches. Obviously Green was ready for his appearance. And what's up with Judge?

See, now I can't get too upset over this one, for several reasons.

We had won 5 in a row.  Houston had a good game offensively (even against Cole, they fouled off some tough pitches).  We didn't make any dumb plays (quite the opposite with Torres in the 8th, actually).  The bullpen has been a strength this year, they just had a bad day.  Bregman robbed us of two hits late in the game.  Nothing you can do about that.

It happens.  Just don't let it snowball.

Another bad late loss last night. This cannot become a trend. All the good work they had done lately, getting to within one loss of the Red Sux has quickly gone by the board in 2 days. Understand it is early. That's why the loss with Cole on the mound the other night was big. Judge needs to get hot now. Looking like lots of bothersome injuries cropping up again.

game 32. back to 500.
another fine outing by yanks starter goes for naught - 2 games in a row.
another crappy outing by the bust pen - 2 games in a row.
a very crappy defense by the yanks.
wasted 2 gettys by dj and a ballantine by kraken

game 33.
the greatest comeback in the long storied history of the 27 time world champion new york yankees, the yanks came back from  a deficit not once not twice but three times.
again another fine game by the yankee starter; and, the bullpen came through.

And props to Torres, who can be frustrating.

game 34.
a walk off win brought to you by mvp stanton.
yankee ace german turns in yet another pitching gem.
yankee bullpen was lights out.
mvp voting - mock ballots - stanton, german, chapman.

Nice win for sure. Did not want to go into Tampa losing 3 of 4. Once again really concerned about the bats. There are just do many holes in this lineup. Pitching overall has been very good.

Boone is delusional. Stated in the post game that Yanks are starting to hit. What? They just had 16 hits in 3 games! Luckily the pitching is very good. Judge, Sanchez and Frazier are all ice cold, and the hot Stanton is now heading to a cold spell, not including today's game winner. Just in time for the Yanks to be facing a team they play horribly against.

He's not delusional.  He's correct.  He said "starting to hit"  not  "firing on all cylinders".   I think we can all agree that the Yankees didn't hit at all in April.    Here's what Boone is talking about: (Year-to-date vs last 7 days)
Stanton:  292 vs 375
Urshela:  287 vs 400
Lemehieu: 281 vs 333
Hicks: 198  vs 471
Gardner: 200 vs 300

Not sure how you guys define "starting to hit", but going from zero people hitting to half the lineup hitting over 300 for the last week is exactly how I define it.

I just don't agree. Too many big holes. And Stanton, Hicks and Gardner will not sustain that pace. And what about Judge, Ford, Frazier, etc.? Huge amount of holes and dead spots in the lineup. No matter how you look at it, 16 hits in 3 games is not very good.

I'm not sure what you are arguing.   Lineup construction?  Roster construction?   What do future assumptions on production have to do with what Boone said about how they are trending now?

There are a lot of things you can fairly criticize Boone and Cashman for, but saying the team is "starting" to hit compared to the slumber the were in for the month of April just isn't one of them.  Even if you Cherry Pick the last three games you have to ignore the 17 walks they had in those games to prop up that argument.
Over your highly selective 3 game span, they had 33 base runners (16 hits & 17 BB).  That's 11 base runners a game over your 3 game snapshot.  Go compare those numbers to April.  Boone is correct.
11 base runners a game also means players are starting to get locked in at the plate and are seeing the ball well.   "STARTING" to get locked in.

In Boston, Peter Abraham noted MLB hitters through Friday "had a .233 batting average with a .701 OPS" and were "striking out 24.2 percent of the time." This season’s on-base percentage of .310 is the "lowest since 1968, the year of the pitcher." The "rash of no-hitters and plunging statistics aren’t a fluke." This is "how the game is being played." Abraham wrote the "plight of the hitter" is the opposing team has a "room full of analysts breaking down data to determine how best to pitch you." Getting the ball "in the air was once a solution," but now, MLB has "deadened the ball to create more action on the field." It is "becoming impossible for all but the best players to hit for average and power" (BOSTON GLOBE)

games 35 - 37.
rays and yanks both batting 222 as a team
rays era 3.81      yanks era 3.23
yanks have 9 more gettys.

Yankees win
Monty solid on the bump

But overshadowed by Nevin Willits and at least one other non player coach all testing positive for covid after vaccinations. Yankees were one of less than 10 MLB teams who were fully vaccinated.
