Monty solid on the bump

But overshadowed by Nevin Willits and at least one other non player coach all testing positive for covid after vaccinations. Yankees were one of less than 10 MLB teams who were fully vaccinated.
You forgot to add "Offense produced only an anemic 7 hits, continuing to prove Boone delusional".    /media/kunena/emoticons/silly.png

Boone is a lot like Ralph Houk. He lauds a team that he fields.

Well played, sir.  Well played.  /media/kunena/emoticons/wink.png

For what its worth, I'm not a Boone fan.   I don't particularly like him that much because he's  a figure head.  Doesn't really matter who is the manager anymore.  If they got rid of him they'd just replace him with someone who would live and die by what the analytics dept spits out.

What manager makes this a WS winning team?

game 36. what a thrilla
playoff intensity/repercussions
big,big bravo to the yankee starter and cy chapman.
bravo to #99 and gio
another 2021 game - total of one run, merely 10 hits, 23 kkkrakkkens
happy b-day in heaven to l peter b - an American treasure, a yankee legend, a d-day veteran.

Now tied with the Red Sox for first, in the loss column.  They're a game ahead of us only because they have two more wins.

Wait wait wait.
But what about all the panicking that I was reading ?

Pathetic effort going for the sweep. Taillon very unimpressive once again. He has to get out of that 1st inning. Why the lefty Ford tonight? Whitey would have been better at the plate. Still poor hitting by this team. Won 2 games in the series thanks to the ptiching. Gave a game back to the Red Sux.

game 37.
when kraken has twice as many hits as any other yank, when kraken has twice as many total bases as any other yankee, you lost.
pitching got racked. taillon out of playoff picture. king with a rare bad outing. wilson kept the crap pitching continue.

game 38.
in one of the greatest at bats in the storied history of the 27 times world champion new york yankees, gio as a 7th inning pinch hitter, with the yanks down 4 to 2, fouls off 5 pitches before hitting the game winning 3 run homer. wow.
#99 had 2 gettys.
thank you cashman for getting peralta.
Urshela injured his knee making a diving stop against the Astros during the club’s most recent homestand. The swelling subsided enough to let him dig in for that fight against Lakins; he wasted three cutters and two fastballs before connecting with a 93.3 mph cutter on the outer half of the plate. The drive came after Miguel Andújar stroked a one-out single, snapping an 0-for-15 streak to begin his season, and Kyle Higashioka worked a walk that prompted Baltimore to make a pitching change.“Off the bench or not, it was one of those really good at-bats,” manager Aaron Boone said. “It was a huge spot in the game, a couple of runners out there. To foul off [five] pitches and then absolutely get into one, it was just a big-time at-bat by a really good player. I’m glad I had that sitting over there tonight as a weapon.”

clint clinched his spot in the dumb runners HOF with yet another running blooper

Nice comeback win tonight. But just like the recent past, all these injuries are piling up again. Hicks can never stay on the field, and let's hope this not the beginning of a long-term issue with Stanton. The Hicks contract still mystifies me to this day.

Down in Florida listening to the game on a local station. When Frazier was on base Sterling didn't know what was going on. First he said he stayed at first base and didn't go 1/2 way, then he saw the replay and said he went 1/2 way but turned his back and went back to first. Then Susan said he was safe at second. Then John said he was out. Then after watching the replay Susan said he was out. I know they are not in Baltimore but get a bigger monitor.
I shudder when there is a fly ball to the outfield. Sterling doesn't go into his automatic home run call much any more. My favorite on deep fly balls has the outfielder going back to the wall and then says "and the ball bounces over the wall for a ground rule double".
Another thing they are doing every game now is giving batting tips and professing about contact with the ball instead of  the new era of Home Runs or strike outs philosophy.

I never trust anything Sterling says when listening to the game on the radio which I do when I go for a walk only. Wait to read about what happened to get the truth of what happened. Don't know if it is an eye sight issue or onset of dementia issue. Susan the more reliable of the two but that's baseball Susan.

Should be pointed out if it’s not known but like the TV broadcasters the radio broadcasters are also not in the stadium for road games. So while he struggled anyway when they are home it’s harder away.
