NY YANKEES - 2021

Not a bad outing for our #3 starter. /media/kunena/emoticons/cool.png

game 20.
yanks threw one of their 2 aces against the cleveland you-fill-in-a-name. he was terrific for his 7 innings. 11 ks.
hicks had a getty. hicks weekly fan fest meeting was standing room only.
odor eater had a getty. the cashman weekly fan fest was filled to the rafters. masks optional.
again the yankee bats squeak out just enough to win.
dj's run for the mvp roses stalling lately.

game 21.
the taillon/nelson experiment seems to be a bust.
half of the cashman fan club resigns.

Why is Nelson even on a ML roster?  He is horrible.  Send him down and let's never see him again.  Taillon didn't waste any time giving up the early lead, then the Yanks bats went to sleep for the day.  Guess they were packing for Baltimore.  Need to keep winning series.

He has been sent down.

game 22.
for the most part major leaguers are crappy base runners and bunters.
yankees key inning - walk, walk, walk, single, out running to third. oh vey.

Fundamentally, since Boone took over, this team sucks. It's a reflection of him and his staff.  Poor defense, horrible base running, and terrible situational hitting are major issues. And then the players are coddled. No one is at fault. Time to end this Boone charade.

Was listening to pregame show on WFAN (was on a walk) and John Sterling was reading a promo for a prospective contest winner and it appeared he may have fell for it when he announced that the winner would be Jack S.  Reminds me of the time Ed Coleman in a similar situation fell for the winner being named Al Coholic. /media/kunena/emoticons/grin.png

The Yankees traded outfielder https://www.mlb.com/player/643565]Mike Tauchman to the Giants in exchange for left-handed reliever https://www.mlb.com/player/593974]Wandy Peralta and a player to be named on Tuesday night.

Also, according to Boone the starting catcher will be day to day but Higgy will play a lot because he's earned it. About time!

Higgy is good. But I’d be shocked if he can still perform everyday offensively. Remember when Romine had to play when Gary was out. Eventually he faded. Then again the bar is set pretty low now with Gary. Bottom line catching these days in MLB is a shit show. Most are mediocre with the bat. Feast or famine. It’s literally the last spot in the lineup I’d pay attention to.

before monday's mlb games, the average batting average across all of baseball was 232.
so the yanks crappy bats are the same crap as most other teams.
on monday the yanks started 5 players batting under 200.
game 23.
the bronx bombers be back. 3 gettys.
i have turned in my kraken fan club membership. figgy deserves the catching slot.
let us see what figgy can do going 5 times a week. we know what kraken cant do.
kluber pitched a great game. perhaps now behind german in pecking order.
yanks bullpen again shined. statistically the 3rd best in baseball.
standing room only at stanton's weekly fan fest with that ballantine.
the tauch and gardy play the same role. strong gloves/fast legs/weak bats.

game 24.
the yankees ace * german * was lights out.
the yank ace saved the bullpen with king getting all 6 batters out.
the bronx bombers be back again. 3 gettys. 12 hits.
dj again back on mvp track with 2 hits.
standing room only at stantons fan club fest - 3 hits.
higgy took the collar with 2 kkkkkrakkkkens.
bad base running again - tuesday - out at plate and out stealing.
wednesday - clint going to third on ball hit to ss. clint is a kraken jr from the neck up.

Is this version of the Yankees the worst on baseball fundamentals?

Understand that Luke Voit is getting close to returning. That will be huge for  everyday lineup.

Back to watching?  Or just following from afar still?

Not watching. Reading the paper.
How does this team not know how to run the bases?

Fundamentals. Fundamentals. We talkin bout fundamentals?

Terrible luck for Yanks as what should have been 2 run double bounces over left center field wall for ground rule double limiting them to tying run and then a hard line shot to short ends inning in 3-3 tie. Damn!
