NY Post: Masiello Would Love St. John's Job

as long as Slice is the number 2 guy....I'm all for it

Repeat after me, Slice is not leaving a high paying assistant job to come to St. John's for the same position.

People forget he turned an offer before and while he was in a good situation then, he is in a better one now.

And that's before he was married to a non-New Yorker.

I have a bridge for sale.
No soup for you. Next.

On what planet is it "disloyal" to look for a job that will triple your salary?

If Manhattan didn't let their coaches consider other oppertunities they would never be able to hire a decent coach again.

The problem is not a coach looking at other schools, it's your own school not putting up the money to keep said coach satisfied.
See Fraschilla, Fran.

I would agree that generally it is not disloyal to look for a job that will triple your salary. But each situation needs to be looked at individually.

In this case, I say Masiello is disloyal because Manhattan took him back after the debacle with USF. And now he repays them by publicly lobbying for the St. John's job. Not only is that disloyal, IMHO, but it also raises red flags to me about how he would carry on here.

It served manhattans interests to bring him back. They didn't do it out of the goodness of their hearts.

I agree, he has a value system that is now trending downward. It's more than x's and o's. There will be other opportunities if he has continued success at MU, the timing here doesn't speak well of him.

Lets remember that Mass was not hired by the current Manhattan AD. And the current AD has a lot of issues up there. So yes they took him back and all that but things in Riverdale are not smooth.

Can second that with certainty.
