NY Giants Draft Pick
I wonder if they have explored Flowers at OG in practice. If there is no market for him, why not take a look.
Can't try him at a new position in practice until he shows up to practice lol
I guess drafting the QB says the Giants aren't completely sold on Davis Webb.
I prefer to view it as they weren't sold on Mayfield, Darnold, Rosen, or Allen. And I can't blame them since I think two will be flops and one has a major obstacle to overcome.

Hmmm. I say Mayfield and Allen have strong careers, other two flop.

From espn.com.. We all know about Barkley

Will Hernandez
Will Hernandez, a mauling guard, picked by the Giants with the 34th pick. This continues Dave Gettleman's offensive line rebuild.
The original plan is for Giants to try Will Hernandez on both sides. Hernandez and Patrick Omameh have both primarily played left guard. But GM Dave Gettleman did note Omameh played right guard earlier in his career.

Lorenzo Carter
Georgia OLB Lorenzo Carter brings a lot of upside to the Giants defense as an edge defender. Size, length and speed. Cater ran a 4.50 40 at 6-foot-5, 250 pounds. And the versatility is there for Carter to rush the passer as he develops his overall game.

Jordan Raanan
Another defensive player at No. 69 for Giants with DL B.J. Hill from N.C. State. He was a running back in high school. Now he is a 311-pound upfield defensive lineman.

The Giants picked QB Kyle Lauletta from Richmond with the 108th pick. Interesting prospect. Had drawn comparisons to Jimmy Garoppolo. Davis Webb now has competition.
Giants GM Dave Gettleman expected QB Kyle Lauletta to be long gone by the fourth round. "Too good a value to pass up there," he said. Pat Shurmur added he thought Lauretta's arm was good enough.

Defensive lineman R.J. McIntosh from Miami goes to Giants with pick No. 139. He's a quick-twitch lineman who gets upfield. Giants are now out of picks.

Dave Gettleman bypassed a QB to select Saquon Barkley, the GM's highest-graded draft prospect since Manning -- and we don't mean Eli.

BTW for those who didnt know one of our very own redmen.com members MattC was about as close to the Giant War Room as you can get without being in it as he works for the Giants now. A real good dude Matt is

I think the GIANTS are a much improved football team after this draft and the people we acquired in free agency, Now they will check the non-drafted players that they feel deserve a shot.

Thank you! Yes for anyone wondering, I handle all Giants social media. So everything you saw the past few days was put out by yours truly lol.

I still think the Giants need to find one more Offensive Tackle. Chad Wheeler on the right side just won’t cut it and obviously Flowers is a no show. The game is won and lost on the line of scrimmage. It’s your ability to protect your QB vs your ability to get to the other teams QB. You have to control the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. I think the Giants are a Right Tackle away from being able to do that effectively.

Yes, more work to do, but the team's roster has improved markedly from the draft, both offensively and defensively.
I think the plan is to sign 'free agents' or other team's castaways to continue to improve the OL.
Big Blue may be on the cusp of a very competitive season.

I am surprised they picked two defensive linemen. We already have Snacks and Dalvin Tomlinson; and we are transitioning to a 3-4 defensive.

In any event, our linebackers are badass.

Olivier Vernon
Alec Olgletree
BJ Goodson
Lorenzo Carter

Agree JF. I was surprised too. I think James Bettcher plans an aggressive switching / attacking defense. Guessing Giants saw more value to strenghten the DL then still available OLs, but dunno.
They must think they can find some help as guys get cut or maybe some guys that were undrafted.

Snacks will play the middle. With BJ Hill and Robert Thomas spelling him

The ends will be Tomlinson and Mauro when he's back from suspension. Wynn and McIntosh will fill in for Mauro.

Also Carter likely will be the backup OLB spelling Vernon and Kareem Martin who played with Bettcher in Arizona last year.

I do think they could use an upgrade on the Dline

Are the Giants playing a 4-3 or a 3-4?

Giants are now deep on the DL. BJ Hill a run stuffer and will pressure the QB; McIntosh will athletic. Carter runs a 4.5 40 at 250lbs, will vie for PT. and potentially could be our EDGE rusher.
Wonder if any of these guys have hoops eligibility left?
Joking.
