NY Giants Draft Pick

Barkley is considered the best player in draft even
by some gurus clamoring for a QB.
Will Hernandez will pave a highway for Barkley and protect Eli.
Lorenzo Carter Is also a great pick. Our edge rusher?
BJ Hill is a solid DT pick.
We've missed on an OT so far.
The Ravens got Orlando Brown.
But so far, imo, this is a great draft talent-wise for the Giants.
someone told me Giants had Hernandez top 20 player wise. I know nothing about Hill except who he played next to but I think I would have taken a flyer on Mason with that pick
I hear you Mike. Good point. Gettleman seems dedicated to open up the offense, while dramatically improving the OL, and strengthening the D.
Giants have #108 and #139 left in the 4th and 5th rounds. I’m not sure what’s left to pick from. We shall see.
I’m really excited by what he is doing. Someone texted me late last night that they were just as excited getting Hernandez as they were in the first round. Then i started googling info on Hernandez and wow what a kid. And what character. Played just as hard the last game of the season last year as the first game. Now let’s make a statement and trade Flowers for a roll of toilet paper because he can wipe the crap off him every time another player abuses him. Looking forward to see what he does today. These later rounds I don’t know too much because I don’t follow college football like you guys but I will enjoy reading the board about today

I agree, Mike. Flowers was awful at right tackle and I don't see him being any better at left tackle. I would love to see us pick up a tackle in rounds 4 or 5. I do think you can still get some value there.

Cut Flowers Now and save $ towards the cap.
Cut Flowers Now and save $ towards the cap.
Cutting him is bad business for cap. You have to trade him
Cut Flowers Now and save $ towards the cap.
It's like the JPP trade but to a much lesser extent. By trading him they saved some money against the cap but if they cut him it would have cost them a lot more money against the cap

Even if you get a 6th rounder for flowers it's better than cutting him

I wonder if they have explored Flowers at OG in practice. If there is no market for him, why not take a look.

I'm three hours behind so I hadn't even turned on the TV yet. Just googled the Richmond QB's name with the thought the Giants might think about pulling the trigger, and apparently they did.

They are having a hell of a draft.

You definitely have to, but is he too much of a diva to make the switch?

Yes, Kyle Laulette looks pretty good on film. 6’2” plus, with a nice arm and “a winner” according to Kiper.
Damn, Gettleman is killing it in draft, but I am greedy and do want a hungry OT in the 5th round!
My son, who eats Giants football, disses on Flowers all day long. Erick didn’t show at the mini-camp!
Hearing you guys and hoping Giants trade him.

I like the draft a lot, I think the Giants did their homework. I like the QB pick at 4. Talk about him online says he is a real leader. In any event he and Webb can fight it out in the preseason and see how it shakes out. I would work Flowers at right tackle or guard, if it works out great if not then cut him.

Two OTs still on the table in the low 130s, Tyrell Crosby OR, and Jamarco Jones, Ohio State. Giants pick at #139.
A couple DEs available also.
We can hope.

Giants picked RJ McIntosh DT U Miami with the 139th pick, an athletic upfield guy.
Great draft.
Strenthgened offense and defense.

Damn........no OT????

And, we have no more picks. Are we sure Jerry Reese is gone?

Getting nervous......next pick has to be a tackle.
That was our last pick, JohnnyFan. A DT—not an OT!
I agree. I wish we had picked an OT as well.
Gettleman obviously preferred the D players available on 3 of last 4 picks.
The OL is stronger with the adds of Solder and Hernandez.
Maybe Giants think they can light a fire under Flowers.
Dunno, but otherwise a great draft.

Don't know anything about the QB but in all the highlights they showed he never gunned the ball in once. Looks like he has a Chad Pennington Ryan Fitzpatrick type arm which does not play to the windy conditions in the Meadowlands late in the season. Like my QBs to have a strong arm.

Instead of lighting a fire under Flowers trade him for ? How about another trade for an experienced offensive lineman.

Doubt Flowers has much value, but maybe Gettleman will trade for an OL. That’s be good.

Yes, just remembered they traded picks. By the way, those picks got us Alec Ogletree which is awesome. He's best linebacker we have had in a very long time (maybe since Antonio Pierce).
