NY Giants Draft Pick

I will be happy with anyone except Saquan Barkley. Just disagree with using the 2nd pick on a running back.

Regarding the QBs, I watched YouTube on Darnold, Rosen, Mayfield and Allen. I don't know, they all look great so I'll leave it to the experts.

I guess my first choice would be to trade down a few spots, acquire an additional pick, and select the o-lineman out of Notre Dame.

I don't mind a RB early as we are a cold weather team if Eli was 10 years younger but QB is such an important position and now is the time and draft position place. I think they are afraid of making a mistake. If they pick a bust and Barkley turns out to have a HOF career they would rue the day.

Totally agree on them being afraid to make a mistake. At least two GMs will eventually lose their jobs due to this draft because there is no chance that all four QBs are not going to be good.

This is funny. Saquon Barkley IS 'the man'! He's a once-in-a generation RB with a great frame, thick, yet quick--with accelerating running gears and a superb receiving RB.
Gettleman sees the guy wearing a Gold Jacket'--which btw, is his litmus test for the #2 pick--that and being a value position pick for the spot. He likes Q Nelson a lot, but not at the #2 pick. Trading down is not a great option this year, because late first round quality is not up to prior year standards: #22 isn't much better than #52--according to Draft gurus.
Imo, we don't need a QB. Eli will be good with better protection. And Davis Webb projects to be an NFL QB.
I am confident Gettleman will improve the line.
IF SB is available when Giants pick--the best player in the draft--Gettleman will pick him.
I hope.
We shall see.

Chicago, would you switch places with the Broncos (5th) and take their 2nd round pick (8th)?

You can then have two high 2nd round picks and take Q. Nelson at #5.

I would definitely do this.

All NFL teams follow the same chart as to draft pick values and you would be shocked at the cost of moving up very early in the first round. Almost positive that it would cost more than a second rounder to move from 5 to two.

I think they have a QB in mind they want to draft, I believe it is Darnold. If he is taken by Cleveland they will go with Barkley.
Barkley
I think and I hope it’s Barkley. A once-in-generation RB, runs a 4.4 40, plus a great receiver. Would open up th offense via options. Some say he’s best player in the Draft.
Here’s hoping!

I am hoping they get a QB or the O-Lineman. I would also be happy with Chubb.

Such an interesting draft.......getcha popcorn ready!

All Giants fans! Wonder if Barkley has any hoops eligibility left?
Joking!

As a Bills fan this draft is driving us nuts. Everyone is waiting to see if we move up and try to grab a QB. Our GM said it depends who is still available at 5. I can't imagine us paying the same haul to the Giants that the Jets did to move up to 3. Unfortunately I'll be asleep by the time the draft starts.

I don't love any of the QBs. It feels like they are all being overhyped and should probably be drafted in the 5-15 range, but are instead going in the top 5.

Interesting take on the QBs. You certainly could be right.

You may well be right but if you are a GM and need a QB would you take the criticism of waiting until round 2?

If you think someone is a franchise 10 year starter you have to take him even if that means trading up. But are all 4 of these guys going to be starters? Probably not and 1-3 (maybe 4) GMs will be wrong. In 2004 the QBs went 1, 3 and 11.

The Bills have one guy they apparently think is a bonafide star, so if he doesn't go #1 then you can see why a GM would want to move up. Personally I'd rather they keep their picks and get 4 potential starters in rounds 1-2.

The mock drafts propagate like rabbits. One of them has the Bills trading up to get Josh Allen. I haven’t followed all the hype about the QBs. Great debates though!
I’m convinced Barkley is the answer for the Giants. Hope I’m right that they pick him and that he works out. Otherwise the ‘be careful what you wish for’ curse beckons.

If the Giants remain at 2, I go Rosen. He is the most polished QB prospect in the draft. And he gets to sit for a year or two behind Manning.

If the Giants trade down (depending on how far of course), then you can look at Chubb, Nelson, Vea, or James.

I’m not ‘in’ on this QB feeding frenzy, but heard Rosen has concussion, other injury, and ‘character’ issues. I could be wrong but I think Barkley is the guy.

Chubb is good, but he’d be gone by #12 and quality disappears in the late 1st round this year from what the buzz is anyway.

I like Barkley, but you can get RBs much later in the draft. Guys like Hunt went in the 4th last year.
