NY Football Giants '24-'25

I'd sign him for 1 year if we get Dart.
He'll need a year of sitting anyway, and in that one year we'll see what Darnold is worth resigning. If not then good bye.

But he'll probably want more than a year, not happening.
He will get more than one year.

But I would not do it. He succeeded this past season (until his disastrous playoff game) on team with a very good offensive coach, OL, and skill players. Not to mention his last go around in NY did not go well.

Didn’t play well in last regular season game against Detroit playing for top seed, bye and home field throughout playoff.

@WillRock's favorite Jaxson Dart had a good Senior Bowl week. Milroe had a horrible week. People are now saying Dart might have played himself into the 1st round.

So much for all the experts on here huh? 🤣

As I also said:

PFN’s own NFL Draft experts think that Dart would be a nice pickup for an NFL team, but he might not be quite to the point of being a starter just yet.

“Dart would be best served to land in an organization where he can sit behind an established starter for a year or two,” wrote Reese Decker. “He has the necessary tools and pedigree to have success in this league, but the transition is likely a lofty hurdle.

Maybe we can look for that to see if the Giants get a veteran who might be a little past their prime and can get him for 2 years, if so then they might draft Dart.

If they don't get a veteran QB then most likely they'll draft Sanders or Ward if available.

Last I checked nobody here is an expert. Me and you included.

Dart played in a very simple offense at Ole Miss. NFL offenses aren't simple. But he has traits that he has to prove at Senior Bowl and during his workouts. He has to show he can read progressions but his release is quick and that's a big win. It all comes down to his coach and a system. Like you said he makes sense where he can sit and learn for 1-2 years.

If Ward and Sanders go 1 and 2 the Giants would be morons to take Dart at 3. 2nd round sure but he's a QB and people overdraft QB's. Plus if you draft him in the 1st round you get the coveted 5th year for the most expensive position on the field. So if Giants miss on Ward or Sanders they would likely have to trade back into 1st round for Dart it seems.

Yeah I was jk about the expert remark.

Why would the Giants be morons to take Dart at 3? Yeah, the first few years he'd have to sit, but what if he's the best in this year's class in say 5-6 yrs. I'd be good waiting.

Dart has faults, but so does everyone else.

  • Potential concerns:
Some NFL scouts are scrutinizing Sanders' pocket presence and ability to handle pressure, which could lead to him dropping in the draft if he doesn't address these concerns.

This year the 'experts' think even Ward and Sanders aren't worthy of Top 10 picks. They feel nobody is better than the 5-6 QB's drafted in the 1st round last year. If Ward and Sanders go 1 and 2 (and I'm not sure they will) that means Abdul Carter is there at 3. So is Travis Hunter. So is Mason Graham. While QB is important that would be serious reach. He would have to light the world on fire between now and draft.

Will be really interesting to see what TEN and CLE do and how it shapes the draft. It's really interesting to see Ward vs. Sanders. Sanders is much more smooth but Ward is raw and talented. The comps I've heard most are Ward is Caleb Williams light. Sanders is like Jared Goff. But also heard Sanders comped to Burrow who only had 1 amazing year of college ball.

SC
LSU
Georgia
Florida

2-2 including big win vs. Georgia. But none of those games he threw 60%. 4 TD's, 4 INT's.

Against the best teams he didn't perform. Not a #3 overall pick. But I would definitely draft him Day 2 if Giants miss on Ward or Sanders.

Build the O-Line first.

The Giants have not neglected to draft OL. They have neglected to draft good OL (aside from Thomas), or at least the correct OL.

Also, a good OL cannot consist of 5 players drafted in the first or second round. That would be a horrible allotment of high draft picks.

A good OL can be coached up more than most positions because it is just as much about chemistry as opposed to individual skill.

The last dominant Giants OL was 2007-2008 and they had no first rounders: McKenzie (signed from Jets, but was a 3rd round pick), Snee (2nd round pick), O’Hara (non-drafted FA), Sueubert (non-drafted FA), and Diehl (5th round pick).

Justin Fields is an unrestricted free agent in 2025 so the New York Giants would have to give Justin Fields a contract extension.

If Ward & Sanders are gone, I'm getting the Colorado playmaker in the 1st rnd, and if still available getting Dart in the 2nd.

If Dart is off the boards then do be it.

Giants are hiring former Jaguars and Bills WR coach Chad Hall as their assistant quarterbacks coach, per source. Hall now reunites with his former Bills colleagues, HC Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen, in New York. Hall also is the brother-in-law of current Rams QB Matthew…
