An insider friend of mine spoke to one of the coaching staff (I don't want to mention his name but we all know him) at the St. Mary's game and that coach said that he's staying here.

I meant if he were able to come aboard this year hypothetically. I think God's gift could easily play PF for us and be very, very effective if we had Pelle on board though. Gift looks like he could be a monster PF if we had another post man on board. His mobility and hands really are suited for the PF spot IMO, but it doesn't really matter. If we have both Pelle and Gathers on board next year, I expect to see our guys rotating though the PF/C spots.
He didn't mention a time frame but the official statement was that he was going to try to be on the court by DEc. 21st, wasn't it?

Did he make any announcement today or anything? Didn't he say that he would let everyone know what his plans were by monday?
his last tweet was that he's getting off all social media. Who knows what's going on there. The only positive is that he hasn't decommitted. Looking at I think he was going to find out today if he passed the classes he needed to get qualified. IMO I don't think it was a decision on whether to go to SDSU or St. Johns. Hopefully he's just sick of his SDSU buddies bugging him.

That is great news. really great news actually. Especially in light of questions about Gathers commitment. Bringing Amir and Norvel on board, whether this year or next, will really solidify our lineup for the next 3 seasons.
Think about it, with them in the fold, we'll be able to go 8-9 deep with talent across the board.

It would be wonderful to get Pelle & Garrett in Dec (we could certainly use Pelle's height); however I am concerned over Pelle's tweet that yesterday was a "bad day". If it is a grades issue we may need to wait until next year if at all. Did I read somewhere that Samson reclassified as a 2012 recruit. Would that mean even if he does recommit to SJU we do not see him until next season?.
