It is possible for him to be at MM and still be in california by saturday afternoon, and back to school by sunday nite. I also thought he was going to play in the IS8 this weekend with Amir.

Of course it is possible! I just do not like the reference to Long Beach!! If he gets to Long Beach....AND STAYS.....he is a goner!

Relax. He is going to MM, so he is obviously still committed. He is a bit homesick, I think he has been east for the last 6 weeks of which he was originally hoping to be at SJU instead of back at prep school. So it is natural that he wants to see his family. But he is not leaving Phelps.

I'm a little dizzy reading these posts. Question: Is Pelle definitely -- emphasis, definitely -- going to be here for Midnight Madness? From what I've read, that's what it sounds like to me, but is it a sure thing? (And if it's true, that's good; if not, that's depressingly bad.)

I want Pelle here as badly as anyone does, the kid's a game changer, but why is he taking a weekend trip to California if he's in school on the East Coast when it's not a long holiday weekend. I'm beginning to get the impression this kid just doesn't get it, or if he does, it has nothing to do with St. John's.

(And, Newsie, I'm not trashing anyone; I've never trashed any of our kids, here or anywhere else. I desperately want to see Pelle in a St. John's uniform in December, but, unlike Amir, I never get a sense of his passion about it.)

this was most accurate fordham. Norvel constantly tweets about missing home. Everyone needs to relax - most frosh that move away for the first time miss home. By second semester, Norvel will be fine regardless of where he's going to school, Philly or SJ's.
Just because he isn't as emphatic about it on his twitter account doesn't really mean much at all. His verbal commitment and the LOI he signed should tell us enough. He never de-committed after being ineligible and never re-opened his recruitment. Just because he's a bit more guarded with his tweets doesnt mean much. I sense he's a kid who is just disappointed he's in limbo right now, and a bit homesick being neither wi his SJU fam nor back home. That's pretty normal. He's at Phelps for the sole purpose of getting qualified to play at SJU this December. Seems pretty committed to me right now. Think he should be supported.
