Northeastern Game

Holiday wee-end, school not in session so I can see why the lack of students at the game.

Still mostly a commuter school with over 10,000 students. Your excuse is lame.

I love how that Nuri finally decided to slow down and run the offense like a PG should, instead of driving every time and making stupid plays. The only problem is that he is doing it when we are down 12 with 2 minutes to go....he has no bball IQ

Haven't you heard-we are lucky Nuri showed up at all at St J because he was scouted by the NBA and half of our fans were afraid he was going to jump straight from 1 yr of juco to the NBA or at most stay only one season. Don't you know the NBA is just dying for 6'3" guards with no outside shot.

Your point?

Replay this game in a man 80% of the game instead of zone for 3/4 and we win easily.

Like it or not, the staff is sticking to the zone plan. Judging by my loud, often ranting, verbal pleads to play man yesterday...I DON'T like it! But they are the professional coaches and I am just a middle school coach. I will keep the faith.

They abandoned the zone against Arizona and Texas A&M for most of those games, and will do the same against Big East competition. They treat low D1 competition as preseason almost and opportunities to learn the zone. I think it will pay dividends down the road, but I also think they are playing with fire in terms of W's and L's and yesterday they got burned.

I agree. You can't risk a loss against a lower tier D1 team. They should have left the zone in the locker room at halftime. If they are a bubble team in March, this one is going to hurt. But, they obviously aren't looking that far ahead. Nonetheless, I would not risk losing one of my cream puff games for a zone lesson.

Not to worry. The CBI doesn't have a bubble.

I am not entirely convinced they will be THAT bad. Maybe the NIT is a more realistic goal. Time will tell.

I agree, they played two Ncaa tourney teams tough last week, maybe we can chalk this up as a bad loss- I need to see a few more games before I stamp them a CBI team.

with only 7 players they cannot stay man to man, foul trouble will kill them. It's going to be a balancing act of switching defenses all year.
