It was 60 combined for BOTH baskets. lol And at 1 point it was 42. I actually counted. We deserved to lose. Very frustrating game for several reasons. #1 we looked lethargic and seemed like we looked past this game with Kentucky up next. #2 Our Defense flat our stunk. No other way of putting it. Can we put a body on #20 ? What was his name ? Jones ? The guy had more open shots than I do at the pistol range. #3 Our student section had at most 60 kids and think about 18 of them were actually non students just looking to be closer to the exit.
I'm just hoping we don't get blown out by Kentucky or else I seriously need to find a client there so I can at least write off part of the trip on my taxes Anyway it's not the Kentucky game so much but the Detroit game is huge now
I think it was even less than 60 in the student section behind the basket. The rest of the place seemed pretty filled though.
Overall though you are right. The crowd was a pretty good size
I just hope the people who showed up today, and watched us for the first time, don't abandon ship. I don't mean anybody on here, I think it's ingrained in all of us. But, the casual fan may have been turned off for this year, if they went today to see them play for the first time (and with the NBA setteling today, that's a distinct possibility, IMO).
Today was not our day, but the talent is there. It's just going to be another year or two before we get to the level we want to be at, which is a national contender. To me though, it's still a question of when, not if.
