Good decision. You would’ve needed Tums and Rolaids to get through the night.Nunez was aweful. When Suarez hit the ball to Center He missed a go ahead HR by a foot or two.Then by the grace of God Naylor only went from 1B to 2B in a mystifying base running gaffe. Suarez hit a 420 foot single.

If Lindor didn’t just barely scrape the guys first leg I thought the demonstrative tag on the second leg was late and he should have been safe. By the ruling the call stands I think they couldn’t be sure he tagged the first leg but the glove did seem to turn ever so slightly indicating contact which was before the runners hand touched the base.
 
Not sure why Jeff McNeil keeps getting ABs over Acuna. McNeil had a quick start after coming off the IL but seems to be flailing at the plate. Down to .241. Lots of weak contact and slow rollers off the bat. I get McNeil has a role on this team because of versatility but Acuna is a better fielder. At some point, we need more Acuna and less McNeil.
 
McNeil needs to sit. Acuna is a better defender, hitter and got the speed.

It is insane. The team is almost forcing him in the lineup. You want his "bat" so bad then make him the DH. But I'd trade him for a bucket of bolts.

The bigger issue is Mendoza deferring to veterans. McNeil has been bad but Marte has been worse. Marte took two pitches right down the middle last night and went down looking with the bases loaded. In fact he looked disinterested.
 
Senga is just walking the ballpark today. 5 walks and it’s the 3rd inning. Some of these pitches are non competitive. Not even close.

Edit: Luis Torrens is a fantastic defensive catcher. Holy smokes.
