Just from a guy who watches pitching closely I'm not going to rave about him like Mclean but the best way I can describe his pitching if it makes sense to anyone else but me is tight in a good sense

McLean is intense with incredible movement on his pitches. Tong looks like he will take more time to develop but I agree the moment didn't look to big for him.

FWIW twice the Mets batted for over 20 minutes scoring many runs. I wonder if all that waiting and standing around didn’t affect Tong a bit. Tough to get a rhythm.

Tong led the minors in K. He has a major league fastball (with some movement) and a couple of good secondaries pitches that get a lot of whiffs.
